Default Owned by GTECH ?

15.4X@93.X (Pro SS, brand new)
14.97@99.6 (Older version like radar detector, back to back runs)

Yet I seem to run quite well when I race people and for those of you who know my mod list, WTF?!?!!? I have hung with several verefiably fast cars in the past (low 13 second cars). I dont get it, is GTECH not accurate?

PS, the PRO SS version said 155hp at 7059rpm (I am pilled at 6K wtf?) and 120# tq at 57xx rpm (huh?!)

Poo on GTECH, im hitting the strip this weekend to get some real #'s.

i had to play around with mine before i finally figured it out. the main thing is making sure the car weight is entered correctly (with you in it) and make sure you run a full quarter mile. i just watch the meter when it stops timing i let off. hope this helps.

make sure it's not just sitting in your seat or you will get weird readings... i had one that said 14.xx at 126 mph w/ 79 hp and 1500lbs torque... i dont remember the numbers but it was somethin to that effect.makesure its secured on the windsheild... run at the track w/ the gtech to compare.....mine says im runnin in the 13.20's so maybe im in the 12's...i hope..ha...i think weight only matters for hp and tq but not sure

it isn't that slow, you'd know it. the only thing the g-tech is really good for is 0-60mph imho, and or/ getting a baseline run (even if it is off) and then trying to improve on that through driving. kind of like on a dyno, the actual #'s are not really what matter more of how you improve on the #'s with more modifications/tuning.

do me a favor and hook up the g-tech at the track during your run. when you stage make sure it is level and hit the "go" button. don't worry about the amber lights on the tree, it won't time you till you launch anyway. when the g-tech is ready then tach it up and launch (assuming the green light has dropped). im curous how accurate it is for you.

It is not my GTECH and I think I just got rained out : ( Car seems slow and Im pulling my hair out finding out why my head/cam/gear 5.0 is a 14 second car (my friend runs mid 13's@101 in his S10 and beat me by 4 cars 20-100) I have the biggest piece of **** head/cam/full bolt-on 4.10 gear/suspension/new motor 5.0 on the planet me thinks . Pssshhhhh, the body and interior are perfect and I have 15K wrapped up in the thing, anyone interested? Im going import I think if I can sell it.

full weight car. 3240 curb as I had it weighed with me out of it(no gas either).

X303 cam
1.6 RR's
GT40P milled .030 and .030 gasket= 10.5:1
670 holley carb
rpm intake
underdriven crank
x-pipe (offroad)
Mac shorty headers
4.10's
TKo500 5-speed
stainless flex fan
full MSD dizzy and 6AL and coil
probe forged pistons
force II flowmaster catback dumped pre-axle

and this guy who runs mid 13's at barely 100 mph just ROLLED on me.
We checked toming today and it was set in the mid/low 40's we have retarded it to mid/high 30's and I only had one race, it was a 300ZX (newer, 94 or so) and I pulled him from 70-105 by about 3-5 cars roughly. I am not impressed. I think I have a total turd. Any buyers for it? Selling at a loss, lol.

well, after the timing was re-done I nailed it with 12 gallons and a 130# friend and it spun from 4500 in 1st from a roll(hooked until 4500) spun hard hitting 2nd, and chirped 3rd. I dont know how to guage this, but its more than it would do with the timing off...perhapse its not a total dog, but beating a 300ZX (NA) by only about 150 feet or so from 70-105 isnt a good thing is it ?

I would say the the carb could be the problem. I know on my 85 Mustang I never could get it perfect.

It feels good though, thats the thing, EFI was a turd, but I dunno. certainly drives nicer, no more surging for 10 minutes on crank up.

So what is your timing at now? Did you take the spout out when you adjusted it? If you didn't you're just pissing into the wind.

Your combo should make you about identical to a stock ls1 car; low 13's and low 100's trap, so somethings definetly not right. FWIW your engine in my car would be 12s. I know ive asked you before, but I forgot, what clutch are you using?

FWIW, my next two mods without a doubt would be an electric fan and gear up to a 3:73. With those 4:10s I dont think you are enjoying the mid range that the x cam puts out.

Well, timing with the spout off and enough gas applied to stop getting it to advance put me in the mid/high 30's. Car pulls a LOT! better. I can punch it from a 0mph roll in 1st and by 5K rpm with a full tank of gas and a 130# friend it lights the tires up. Shifts spinning into 2nd and chirps 3rd hard. Read my 350Z race. I think I had a legit 2-3 car kill on the guy. Dunno when he let off but he didnt "fall like a brick" until I was well past him. We are putting the vacuum on full vacuum instead of partial and setting the timing to about 34-36* on monday. Car feels much better, jsut hesitates BAD at part throttle, friend says its due to being on ported vac.

Give that G tech another shot after you get your car weighed. Try asking one of the Troopers assigned to the weigh station if you can put your front tires on the marker and then your rear tires to get an accurate weight. (You know like the 18 wheelers) A box of donuts might improve your chances too. LOL. Good luck. I got pretty accurate results IMO once I had the accurate weight. Again Good luck.

Actually it was an LS1tech member that I met on LS1tech that fixed my timing
