'02 GT vs. 350 Z

'02 GT vs. 350 Z Well, I'm cruising down the main drag today and in my rearview I see the obvious looking nose of a 350 Z out back, '05 or '06 don't know and I'm sure he was stock but didn't talk to him. Anyway he's just following me for a bit then pulls up to me, I look over and was gonna give him 
but just looked ahead with a serious look on his face. So we pull up to a stop light, me in the R lane and he in the L. I didn't really think he wanted to go but I thought I could faintly here him rev it a bit. So light turns green and he is gone, gets about 1/2 to 3/4 lead on me, I nail it and begin to pull back on him ever so slightly and end up maybe a half car on him when we stop. Only went to about 70-80 cause of traffic but it was fun none the less. When he pulled back up to me I gave him thumbs up and all he could muster was a serious type of a nod and we were on our way.

Ya my mods are bassani x pipe, borla catback, accufab tb and plenum with a xcal 2 with MPH tune.

Damn! I have yet to put one of these chumps in their place. One guy has a blue one around here, brand new. He slowly rolled by me on the way to O'Reilly's the other day and then hauled *** out of nowhere. Didn't want to weave in and out of traffic in a 40mph zone to race, I'm not a ********. Get you some gears and run 'em again,

Well that sucks that he was arrogant like that. Win or Lose its all just for fun and I always either wave or give a thumbs up. Its a little harder to do when you lose but whatever. Z drivers get a real bad rap for some reason but I can only try to change that one race at a time haha. Good race though!

hehe. Anyway I love the 350 Z's and hopefully I see him again soon cause its a close race between us.

Yeah those 350s stock arent too much to beat up on. But I raced one the other night that was boosted to kingdomcome. I wasnt spraying but that thing pulled like a mother above 100mph. Beat me up good too. I ve raced those things stock and walk them all the time.

I ran a 350Z with my distributor timing not hardly advanceing and my carb messed up like it is now. Vert' We were about even I think, but he let off pretty fast giving me the illusion that I owned him (I owned one when I was runnign right, so I jsut assumed I was running right then).

it seems like you guys give the 350Z a little to much credit, i dragged like 5 or 6 350's when I had my GT, granted none of them were modded but most of them aren't...they are only rated at 287hp and 274lbft and weigh roughly 3400 lbs and a stock 04 GT is 260hp and 302 lbft and weighs about 100lbs more, so stock for stock they are pretty close so any modded GT should easily walk a Z...no contest

OMG, this is the same **** that Im talking about. NO way a ****** 02-04 gt mustang can walk a stock 350z. Do you want me to post up some vids of stock for stock races. These ****** mustang owners are hilarious. No stock gt mustang traps over 96-97mph. 350z's have trapped over 100 stock.

Even motor trend ran a 13.9 at 102 and thats with the 287hp not the 300. There are even some instances of stock trapping at 104.
