Default Running a stock GT 2morrow for cash

This guy at starts telling me about how a new guy with a GT gave him a ride home, and how his whole body jerked back because "that GT got *****". He then compares that car to my Z and claims that car could take me and give me 2 car lengths. The Mustang isnt modded because the owner thought his car was a 5.0 untill I told him it had a 4.6(99-04). I arranged to race the car 2morrow a lunch for an easy 20(he wants to make it 50 but I cant lose 50 bucks), the **** talker not the owner is betting me. I'm assuming our cars are just about equal in weight, z28's average 300rwhp give or take 10rwhp. The GT's are rated a 260hp to the crank and usual run mid-low 14 second 1/4's. A4 z28's like my car run high 13's on the very low end, so this should be easy gas money for a few days. I hope I dont screw this up.

I'd say it is modded or he doesn't know a whole lot about cars. If it really is stock you aren't going to have any problems.

This should help give you some perspective on it. My car with 2.73 rear and no tune, took my buddys 99 GT 4.6 M5 w/ 3.73s/CAI by about two cars and he CAN drive. Now in total....I have mods in sig, and he has BBK CAI/BBK TB/BBK Pulleys/Flowmaster Catback/and a Coil and Plug package/3.73s .... and I still take him by about two cars. I would race for the $50 if everything is on the up and up (witch it might not be)....it would be easy money

We're racing from a dig if I F up the launch it might be even till about 70 when I predict I should put at least 2 or 3 lengths on him through the 1/4. I've done the basic up-keep stuff so ts shouldnt be a dog right now

LS1 yea you are gonna own his *** 2.73's or not. UNLESS he is modded up and not sayin so. I would look his rig over B4 u run. Either way he would have to be packin a couple things to give you any trouble.

He is done . Obviously doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. Now if it were a 3V I would be much more interested. O if they only put the 3V in the New Edge GT's like they should have

With an a4 you shouldnt be able to mess the launch up too bad to lose the race. I say if he is bone stock then race for the $50 as you should take him easily. If you figure both cars weigh about the same, I have seen most stock gt's (4.6's) put down 225 or so rwhp. Figure your ls1 should be around 300+ rwhp with the cutout open, thats about 75 rwhp difference, which is a ton. Dont worry about it and go for the $50 so you will have gas for the entire week!

I ran a good friend of mine with an '04 GT. He's got intake, orx and catback, plenum and TB and 4.10's he was on DR's and I was on street tires and I put an easy 4 lengths on him. He's a pretty good driver as well.

My car is a basic bolt on car. Headers, Lid, LS6 intake and a cutout.

Take the 50 dollar bet.

Just bet him the $20 you have. You don't wanna be caught with the dumbfounded look on your face when you run someone and lose and can't pay them. I'm sure you'll win, unless he isn't telling you about all of his mods (Can't tell you how many stang owners have tricked me, for now on i'm stock).

Yea, and I've got "the fastest 4 banger in town"... Except I wont bet any money and I laugh my *** off as some dude as he pulls away wasting his gas while I'm in a left/right turn lane. That or I put it in reverse and back up so I can make way to let some real cars race.

I only do that to people who think a 4 banger is fast. They can be "zippy" but no bag of potato chips I'll tell you that. There are "some" exceptions though.
