Default 2002 Trans Am M6 VS. 2006 GTO M6

I've always been looking for an LS2 car on the street, just to see what they got...I'll try make this story short and sweet...

In my town there is maroon gto, that I had seen around town, but I was always in my 91. Well yesterday I was out in the TA and got behind him on a stretch everyone calls 3 mile lane...that is just what it is...nice and open..

I was behind him and we were both waiting to pass the car ahead of us. I jumped out into the left lane (about 65mph) and gunned it and so did I. He pulled about a half a car on me to start....but I was quickly gaining....ended up passing him, getting over in the correct lane and pulled about 4-6 lengths ..to about 130. Then I tapped the brakes and we slowed down, he rolled his window down at the end of the road and laughed..."that isn't stock is it?" I just told him a had a few things done, not much...he was very pissed / impressed ..

I really couldn't believe I pulled that much on him..i figured it would have been really close..ya I know his car weighs more, but he was by himself and I had my brother with me....

LASTLY.....FOR ALL OF YOU WHO SAID THE SLP PERFORMANCE PARTS are SHITTY...you all WRONG....I can tell a tremendous difference with my mods...granted I may have paid a little more...but you get what you pay for....

Marron? There never was a Marron color for the GTO's, it might have been Spice red, that's a darker red. Anyway good run...

I sure hope you beat a stock GTO with those mods. Good kill though. SLP is overpriced. You could find the same or better parts for cheaper.

It's not bullshit. Not everyone wants to open the motor. Every little bit helps. He can do what he wants to his own car without someone saying it's bullshit.

I think by "BS" he only meant some of the parts in the kit are worthless. IMO the bellow and maf aren't worthwhile performance wise. Your gains are from the lid, rockers, LT's, exhaust, and a little bit from the tuner. The best gains tune wise come from HPTuners or LS1Edit w/ a wideband where you can edit whatever you want to match your mods perfectly.

I like it much better then stock. The shifter itself is much firmer and feels stronger, like it knows what it's doing. The stick is fine. Just a straight rod, no bends. I did get the 6.5 stick, not the 6in. I could never drive the stock stick again.

Sidewayz......I'm not cranky. If I wanted a cam I would have bought a cam already.

To each their own I do think slp is over rated and similiar or better hp #'s can be found with other manufacturer's. Also i've not heard of slp parts being bullet proof. ( usually the slp arguement) just my 2 cents.
