friend of mine sets it up, cuz he thinks it will be a close race. and the guy with the 240 obviously thought his car would walk me from the races he has had in the past.

so i meet up with this guy and ask what he raced, list goes as follows. he WALKS 04 cobras, and the other day he ran a ford GT, race was dead even till 90. then the 240 fuel pump gave up. so he lost. i am like, if this is true i am done for. but by the looks of this car, i couldnt believe it, so i ran him anyway.

yeah i sprayed the first pass cuz i wasnt too sure what i was up against.
the other 3 were N/A

from the way people were talking about this car, i thought it was going to be a close race. then when i talked to him and he said he walks cobras, i was like. " i am going to get ruined" but there is that chance he didnt have a clue WTF he was talking about.

 

Holy crap 24 psi is alot on an sr20 motor. I dont' think he was boosting that high it would've been bad for you from a roll if you didn't spray him and he was really boosting that high. That motor is capable of 400 rwhp if it is boosting that high. I think he was lying to scare you or something But good kill none the less

 

yeah, well i guess it goes right along with how he walks 04 cobras and is as fast as a ford GT40.
the T25 is a tiny turbo. i dont know much at all about turbo stuff, but with a turbo that small and that much boost, i dont see how it is working efficiently? IF he was running that much.

 

Yeah I doubt that turbo is boosting 24 psi I have to ask my friend with a sr20 240 and find out what turbo he has because I know the most boost he can run is 19 psi and he ran a 12.3 with bf goodrich drag radials. He has the motor fully built and he only runs 19 psi with a bigger turbo than that (im not positive but I know its bigger than stock)

 

Good kills. That T25 is a small *** turbo, even if he was pushing 24psi, he doesnt have the volume of air. Car still wouldnt have been very fast, which you proved. I have a friend w/ a turboed KA 240SX, stock bottom end, he runs right around 24psi max, and he just hit 415rwhp on a dynojet, and his car is set up nice. But those cars are still light. He traps 122mph.

 

If hes running that much, hes really not going to be making much power


Boost is going to spike down, and settle at like 18psi or so, so he cant even hold that much boost etc.


I would say the 240 on a normal street tire do go 12.8s

And a DR a Mid 12

But thats it, on the T25 its not getting faster than that unless it has a bigger turbo

thanks. i couldve launched harder but didnt feel the need to. wasnt getting WOT till 15ish mph.

and charliecobra, i am pretty sure u are correct. as me on the bottle would be a good race for a slighlty bolt on cobra. but havent had the enjoyment of running across one yet.

 

Do you have drag radials? I can't seem to get better then a 2.2 60, everytime I try and leave harder I spin and cut 2.4, I think I just need to get a set of drag radials...

 

They help alot, but he is an automatic which is easier to get out of the hole. Us stick guys have a harder time getting that 60' down

 

Yea, I am on like riken raptor street tires(cheapest set of tires ever) hopefully drag radials are the only thing keeping me from 12s

had nittos before this, for me, they wrent any better then street tires unless i was at the track. and they still werent anything special.
