A 522 CI stoker isnt really that big of a deal....Elspecially considering that the bone stock engine is a 488 CI...

Id think this guy is 550 rwhp at the lowest and 650 whp at the highest...Im guessing right around 600 rwhp NA and then 800 rwhp with the NOS...

Do you really think a 550 rwhp mach1 would run door to door with a 720 rwhp NA Viper...

That Viper would be putting down 500 rwhp at only 3000 rpm's...

I was amazed when i saw that my bone stock viper hit 300 rwhp at only 3000 rpm's...

As well that 720 rwhp Vper wpould be 900-1000 rwt..

This guy just isnt telling you the hole story..Or more apropiety he is around 720 crank HP all engine...

600 rwhp plus 15% drive train loss would put him at 690 crank HP...So maybe he's 615 rwhp NA equaling out to 720 crank HP...

With him around 600 rwhp and being a little lazy on the stick I can see you pulling him with 550 rwhp...

But man if he had 720 rwhp he could probaly miss a gear and still end up winning...

Ive got a buddy with a 10 pound roe supercharger as well as methanol injection and he only dyno's 720 rwhp on his GTS....But his car runs 9.9's at 140 mph...

as far as the weights go....

rt 10...3380 pounds

GTS....3420 pounds

mach1...3370 pounds

So I dont think weight would have played any factors in this race??????

Good runs...Weather thgis guy is pushin 550 rwhp or 720 rwhp. A wins a win and eighter way thats still pretty prestigous for a mustang.
I don't know what type of power my car is putting down on the 250 pills, on the 200 it did 530rwhp.. I would figure around 580 rwhp, but I never got to dyno it, ran out of N20. My Mach1 doesn't weigh 3370lbs it weighs in around 3250 with driver.. It seems that everyone has a buddy that has something.. I am telling you what the Owner told me.. I know the old owner of this viper and he said it put down 650rwhp N/A when he had it. The guy that owns it now is big time into racing and use to own and drive an Outlaw Drag car he does have the money, and had the motor built.. I don' t know what is all in it since it isn't my car, just what he told me.. So either way 650 or 700 it doesn't matter I was still right there side by side with him from a roll at that..

For someone with a long post to be informative...you should really double check your posts before doing so...

#1) YOU DO NOT ADD drivetrain loss. Why does everyone do that? Adding to a NET figure DOES NOT give you the gross. The find RWHP, you multiply from Crank numbers. Soooo, to find Gross from Net, you DIVIDE. Very basic (7th grade math)....at 600RWHP and a 15% loss, he would be at 705.88 FWHP.

#2) Try reading all the posts. his car's RACE weight was ~3100 pounds.

#3) 4.10s vs. ~3.08 gears.

This is what both owners have told me personally not some B.S I heard from someone's brother's sister's dog's friend.. I'm stating what the old Owner told me and the new Owner told me.. I raced it when Brian had it when I only had a 150 shot about 4 months or so ago and he ran me on motor with me on the N20 and he only put about 1.5-2 cars on me then. My car is making about 150rwhp more now then it was then so that car is alot stronger now then it was back then.. So I know it is making more power..
im perfectly aware of what he told you. i ran it when brian had it. i surely dont remeber him telling me that it was a H/C/I viper. just cam, headers and the juice. but things change in 3 months. he killed me from a 60. he had about 3 cars on me at about 120. well, i hope your new set-up will put something on the new owner even though he has a 250 shot waiting. some day, someday he will go down.

If youre saying that is what he was at when he raced then youre wrong. He said his race weight was 3100 but he had heavy rims, seats and a passenger for the race...but anyways good run and love the color

What ever the weight or rwhp of either car! Awesome race, your car sounds great and certainly goes hard.

That is not a stroker motor in that car...It dont make over 600rwhp.
Daniel over at SQR dynoed the car when they were working on it a month ago.
Everyone knows Mike Kelly is full of ****.

Sorry Dan but you didnt beat a 700 rwhp car.
What you raced was a car that weighs slightly more then you and makes right at 600rw.Thats why the race was so close.

Well Daniel would know the right rwhp.. So Hell 600rwhp Viper then.. That still isn't too bad at all.. Thanks for clearing up the RWHP of the Viper Sam...So there now we know the owner was full of **** on the amount of power it had.. But still it was a very good race..

Rubbing paint with a 600rwhp Viper is still quite a ******* accomplishment for a ford. Congrats....

As for the 408 LS engines making 550 and more....that just shows you how good the LSX series of engines/heads really are....

Yea I completely agree with this guy....

Most people on this site as well the mustang boards would be happy to just be able to beat a stock GTS..

They have ran 11.5 at 120 mph by the best drivers 100% bone stock..As well as numerous magazine times of 11.9-12.3 at 117-120 mph...

But your on a totaly different level from us average guys .....Beating a 600 rwhp tourquey V10 is quite a feat...

Beating a 600 rwhp Supra or other car that is PREDOMIMENTLY boost dependent is no were near as prestigous as pulling a NA 600 rwhp car...Since you can often easily get the jump on these high rwhp boosted cars while their still searching for boost...

But the viper has no excuses...His power was their the instant he put his foot down, and you still came out on top...

Well Done...And maybe there will be a hint of fear in my heart the next time I see a gray Mach1

Was the car an autommatic?....lol.

Just watched the video, again. Dude in the viper could without a doubt,...shift ALOT faster. Like, alot faster. Good for you,....bad for him. Sounds like either his clutch spun in HIGH gear for a moment, or he rhode the clutch....or maybe he had some wheel spin(if he really is making over 700rwhp).

Wacth the video again...you'll hear what I hear.

why am I not surprised to hear a vette owner trash the vid and make excuses? And to think, I was actually starting to like some vette owners.

I watched the vid again.......several times. I will agree that maybe he couls have shifted faster. but you word it like he is 'cruse shiftin'. WHat they did (on a public highway) was stupid, but to speed shift a 600 (or 700) RWHP car in traffic, is just asking for trouble. Try and be intelligent and realize breakin' loose in that situation would have been VERY bad. So that leaves one option......the driver needs to 'granny' shift faster..which I agreed with.

BTW - it was only his first shift that was 'horrible'. His second one was pretty good.

Why would a vette owner make excuses for a Viper????

Vipers are the vettes enemy while the mustang is for the f body's....

V series tech is one of the most hard core racers on this site and was simply calling it like he saw it...
