Who told you that is was a 5.4? The owner? Navigator heads are 4 valve. Lightning intakes are for 2 valves. They won't match up. If that was a true Rousch stage 2 all it was is a 4.6 with a lil eaton blower. 350hp at the crank. Good runs nonetheless. -Mark

My question is......why stick a navi motor in a roush to begin with? Even if things don't match up (which they dont'), why do it? No dig on your friend man, but the amount of work, and money to custom everything, and make ti all work, is not worth it...........an L motor with a cobra R hood..that might be worth it......but a navi motor??? HMMM.....

And Stage 2 Roush is N/A, but his stock 4.6L is sitting in his garage, so it's irrelevant now.
I can get some more vids/pics if you guys want of his car

I have a read tech articles on 5.4 swaps. Granted, I have not known anyone dumb enough to do it (no offense), but, according to the write ups.......it is not an easy thing to do..........But, to each his own.

The reason they are called "modular" motors is because the parts can swap around. So you can take a 5.4 block, and with relatively few complicatons, stick a set of 2v heads on it, and an intake manifold from a 2nd gen Lightning. The 2nd-gen Lightinings were 5.4s, btw. And you can also do a 4v head/intake swap on a 2v motor, relatively easy.

Someone still has to explain to me what a 2nd gen lightning intake is and how it is used without that loud thing that usually resides on top.

They just decided to call it a "modular" motor... lol, I don't know, ask Ford. And I'm guessing that maybe he had 4v heads, and did a Lightning upper manifold maybe? His story has so many holes in it, it's hard to tell fact from BS.

Sorry, it's not my f'ing motor lol. I don't know much about Ford's stuff. Really though, who cares? It was a good race and his car is going to be sick on boost, even though it's a stang I'll still beat him with the spray!
