Thats how EVOs are too believe it or not (the 5spd ones). The 5th gear is MUCH MUCH taller than the 4th so its almost like a big wall you hit when it goes into 5th. Sucks. Thats why you shouldnt race into 5th LOL. 120-130mph is enough anyway, unless your a Supra or something

Just don't race people to that high a speed. You had a few cars on that M3, tap the brakes a couple times at 120mph or less to signal you're done.
I never go that fast anymore, used to almost daily when I worked 1-2 hour drives from my house, but now I don't even get on the freeway hardly as my school and work are less than 15 minutes away. Car used to pull really hard up to 140+, but since my accident and electrical problems my car too feels a lot weaker, even from like 60mph rolls seems like a boat. I just stick to racing from digs, especially with the auto, never wants to kick down a gear.
Throw in a turbo if you wanna do high roll races.

If it was a 6 speed, he would have pulled the M3 right past 140, no problem.
The reason the Evo falls off in 5th is because it has no top end power. Its a 4 cylinder, its not going to pull like a freight train at higher speeds. 5th gear isn't even that tall, its probably like 4th gear in a T56, the Evo just has no power unless the RPM's are high enough to fully spool the turbos, which means you have to have it right near the redline.
