Default 01 C5 Vette vs. 2000 T/A

Ok i have an automatic 2000 T/A it has Pacesetter off-road LT headers, TSP off-road 3in Y-Pipe, 3in cutout, SLP air lid, SLP 85mm MAF sensor, SLP smooth bellow, NGK TR55 plugs and MSD 8.5mm wires. A kid from school has an automatic 2001 C5 Vette it has Corsa exhaust, K&N FIPK, and a Hypertech Programmer. He wants to race for $500 should i be able to beat him? Just wondering?

That makes a difference you might be able to edge him out.... my friend has a m6 2000 SS and at the time I think it jus had a lid and exhasut, I was in my dads 04 c5 bone stock we went from a 2nd gear roll and it was dead even....short race though maybe to about 100 befor we let off.... anyways he has about the same mods you do now except gears and I'm sure hell pull away from the vete now

Sounds about right. The a4 vette (assuming 2.73 gears) wouldn't put away the m6 ss until after 100mph.

As for this race, its A4 vs. A4, but he's getting 3.73 gears. That should put you over the top. He probably thinks that since it's a 'vette he has a huge advantage. Take his $$$.

The race will be to close to risk $500 on unless you are shitting money imho. He may have "a strong car" and you may have "an avg. car" He may have 3.15's. I dunno man. Just sounds too dang close. YOU SHOULD WIN! but still...I guess I am not a betting man.

if you have had your car tuned, how much hp did it make? You might have him on hp by a little and if he has the crappy 2.73 gears then you should have him there too. You might be losing power with the cutouts and ORY since you don't have a cam or heads. My buddy put LT's and an ORY with a dump on his 00 Z28 a couple months ago and dyno'ed it recently. It only made 312/320 on a dynojet. IMO he is losing power due to his exhaust, hope yours isn't the same way. I wouldn't risk my 500 if I was in your car though. Too many variables that may let him pull off a win. He has LS6 intake on you too.

He is talking about me. We were dead even!! I dont think he would of pulled away from me. There was no signs of him getting the advantage

To the op, i think your car is faster but i would definately not put money on it. Just get him to run for fun.

I have 11in zr-1 on the rear so i think it slows me a little in the top end, anyways i launced at 1200 rpm we jumped about even i pulled in 1st slighty he caught me and he ended up winning it by by half a car length!!!!! I came out of the quarter at 103mph!!!!! He didnt start pulling away until about 137, or when my car shifted to overdrive then he just started creeping away!!!!!!! Damn vettes can are bad *** machines!!!!!!!!

don't race a M6 over 120mph if you have an A4. Esp a lighter more aerodynamic corvette. Get that stall and smoke him in the 1/4.

I figured the t/a would win because the hypertech pp3 should have made his car slower then stock. lol
