I can't agree or disagree with anyone. I dipped into the 12 sec realm "12.89" with dr's, intake exhaust, 410's and a great tune. It is not impossible. If anyone says GT an immediate "any LSx will walk it" takes over the forum. My SS can't touch my 02 GT NOW. NO spray and no FI. Good suspension work and lots of practice at the wheel. 12.48 @ 109 to be exact. People think that once you buy a "fast Car" it will go as fast as Motor Trend said it will. All of the reports say an 00-04 GT will hit 14.0-14.1. MY first time out was a 14.8, and I thought that that was a good run while I was going down the track.
I can't see how a V-6 will see 230+ with no nitrous or blower. There is no such thing as a factory freak either. The tolerances are so tight that any error in production will be caught by the computer during testing and the engine will be disassembled. Factory freaks were in the 60's when most of the engine parts were still manually produced. So there goes that theory. So either the V-6 is FI or I call BS. P.S. I owned a 99 Z24 5m. No way even up to 60 will it even run with a well driven GT. But they are quick. I think that most of these races in the Kill section are pretty far fetched anyways. Like a good fishing story. Still fun to read though.
Kingsnake.....Your car should be in the 12's no problem. Keep practicing and they will come with the setup you have. Your 99 has the same motor as the Mach 1 ...they went 13.0-13.2 from the factory.

I really don't think that there was a horsepower difference, in the cars that had the LS6 block. That guy is just talking the car up more for someone to pay that kinda price. You still have the same bore size in the LS6 as you do all the prior LS1's. Correct me if I am wrong guys, but I truley don't think that is the case.

i think this place will solve everything
http://www.answers.com/topic/gm-ls-engine
it talks about how ls1's have dynoed between 288-382 hp...kinda of a big margin but id believe it from what ive heard from different people...that may explain why some people can dip into 12's and others have trouble getting mid 13's...any other ideas?

There is a lot at stake when you race, like what tires you run, the temp, The driver. You know what I mean. So it really depends on how your car will hook and what kinda driver you are. I might be able to run a 13.0 flat, and someone else that weights about the same as me get in my car, and run either a faster time or a slower time. I am trying to look up some tech info on the LS6 block being in the F-bodys, I think I have read some where on here awhile back about this same topic, and there was no difference, besides, it being a stonger block.
