Default LAME KILL: '00 Z28 VS Talon TSI

I dont know what it had done to it other than a fart can and I could hear a loud BOV. I believe all TSI's are AWD but am ignorant on them. Anyway here in Cincy there is still inches of snow on the ground and some spots of wet pavement. We were lined up at a light and figured he would easily get me off the line b/c of traction issues. Anyway, light turns green and i feather it through first to about 4.5K then shift to third in an effort to keep my car under control even at the risk of losing the "race." Surprisingly I was in front the hole time. We shut them down at about 60 or so, it was a quick race and he stayed near my rear quarter. I would have had a lot more fun on dry pavement...maybe I'll see him sometime this summer.

Where in Cincy are you? No I haven't raced any 'maros lately, but that's crazy racing in this weather we've had, you must be nuts!
BTW TSI just means it's turbo, but it could be fwd or awd.

Most guys on here know they can be quick, and a few of them also own dsm's, I think he was calling it lame cuz it was a bad-weather race (well I guess so, since they were about even).

They can be quick but stock they're nothing that great really. My friend has a 93 AWD Turbo w/ a better clutch and almost all new parts put on because of bad reliability and my Z24 will take it. He'll take me off the line but by 3rd (about 60) I pull ahead.

Your right about that, mine was a dog when it was bone stock... then I put on a $50 dollar boost controller and upped it from 8 to 15psi, it was a different car- it really woke up after that.
Here's a good example: at 8 psi, I got slowly walked by a g35 on the highway, at 15 psi I pulled on or stayed even with 3 different lightly modded 99-04 GT's, on the highway. That's what convinced me to keep modding it, just a little more boost with all the stock parts got me in the same league as GT's and LT1's.

Yeah my friend Jake had a 92 that the person who owned it before him upped the boost to either 12 or 13 psi and it made it considerably faster than other talons and eclipses around.

There really slow stock

Sure there pretty slow stock, but I would think he could pull on you.

Your friends car must be a junk box.....

I know they can be quick, any car can be quick. He may well be faster than me, but like I said it was wet out and I'm sure his car couldn't give it all he's got and neither could I, again b/c of the road conditions. And yes, that's why I called it a lame race.

I am in the western hills area. The "race" (if you want to call it one) was at the intersection of queen city and ferguson.

Well a 93 is supposed to run 6.7 to 60 w/ a good launch and a 15.2 in the 1/4 and w/ someone that doesn't know how to take full advantage of their awd it's not gonna get that. And Z24's aren't that bad. I bet I could pull low 15's pretty consistantly.

******* you know I can't. And I never will because by the time I'm able to, I'm going to be in an Lt1 f-body that'll be a 13 second car and I won't care about the Z24 anymore.

Cool, I'm out in the Anderson/Eastgate area, I can't get a race for **** out here. Either nobody comes out, or there's too much traffic when I do see someone.

Well it all depends on the launch of both cars but hey if the Z24 got a good launch and the Z28 got a bad one it might be kinda close up till about 55 or 60. Just depends on the driver. But with me driving the lt1 the Z24 wouldn't run with it till 60. We've gone over this already many times.
