You'll be fine. A stock turbod WRX, even with full bolt-ons will not be a problem. Headers will give him a better powerband (and make it sound like crap, takes away the boxer rumble that is associated with a WRX from what I understand) and the up pipe is an odd mod to do before a turbo-back and a reflash.

But again, you'll be fine.

He will still keep the boxer rumble if the header* is unequal length......aaaaand he'll have a pretty crappy lower end if he has that header put in...

if you lose stock to stock. You are worse than a bad driver

I would think as long as you don't get overexcited and spin out too much it will be nasty.

The UP is understandable on a Rex cause they are catted so he will get quicker spool with the UP. Headers before TBE is worthless, more than likely it will give no HP and like you say sound like crap (unless he gets the equal length they don't sound to bad). The unequal is what causes the non rythmic sound.

If its just a wrx dont even think twice about it.. From a roll my MAXIMA (my daily driver) has pulled several modded WRXs. If he's playing with bigger turbos and has a lot of money into the car than thats a different story but trust me stock WRXs are SLOW

I think the non-rythmic sound is what some people like about the WRX...

its what noticeably seperates us from the rest of the pack. And headers can actually make your friend slower. Subaru designed them very well for boost response and useable torque. UP then TBE with reflash should make it run mid 13s with the same mpg, so even then you would still win from a dig or roll. And FYI, the 04-05 WRXs are less aerodynamically efficient than 02-03(bugeyes).

No way a stock WRX puts down 200-205WHP.

The car has 227HP at the flywheel. Most dyno between 175-185WHP, which figures right for 227HP when you factor in drivetrain loss.
