To these recent posts, I had an 88 305 tpi 5spd iroc and raced my friends 97 4.6 aod and beat him consistently by a car and half by 100mph. My car was stock and he had a cai and tb. Once he put gears in it turned into a draw. I got him off the line but he would catch up and then neither of us would go anywhere. I never had a chance to race any 5.0s but any way you slice it it still a 5.0 and you are limited. Stock vs Stock it would most likely be a coin flip.
I would never waste any of my hard earned money on a 305. The tpi was a good setup, but they should have made 5.7's more available with the 5 speeds.

His car had full exhaust, cai, 3.73 gears, tb, underdrive pulley, and a shift kit installed. It wasn't stock, but it wasn't fast. I had a flowmaster catback that was on the car when I bought it. Any idea what the hp was on a 5.0 ho? I can't imagine it being leaps and bounds over what the 4.6s put out.

The 4.6 puts 265 to the flywheel. This guy knows nothing about a mustang. Why would ford build a newer model gt that cant out run an late 80's model gt? If the 5.0's were faster they would still put them in the mustang's instead of the 4.6.

Hey stupid! Did you read his post before you shot your mouth off? He said that the 5.0 was a more powerfull engine than the 4.6. Read **** first. And evidentley it does make 265 at the flywheel cause you have it in this post

Why would someone travel 1000 miles, drop thier life and schedule to race a "friend" of a internet poster who seems to have an axe to grind and a 13 second car? Would you travel up to see unit for something so trivial even if you had a fast car?

A stock tpi setup wasn't bad on a stock motor but there is much better out there. The T5's wouldn't have held up to the 5.7's. There was a few 5.7's made with them, I think actually there was 3 5.7 cars made with the T5. There is supposedly one with low miles sitting in the basement of a Chevy dealer near me.

Hell yea i would travel to see him. If my friend would let me use his car i would go find unit and shut his mouth or his key board...... I know i cant out run him in my car or roach as he calls it, it's just a mid to high 13 second car. Your talking about a 300hp 305 Z28 against a 600+hp cobra. I dont have an axe to grind he just thinks his car is the absolute king of kings. Down here we dont internet race or parking lot race. You talk junk you race or get your *** kicked. Street racers law in the south. I dont know how it is where you live.
