Default 04 Mach1 vs 06 GTO vs 99 SS

Last week on Monday I was cruising around with my boy in his '04 orange Mach 1...we were on I-80 and we seen a silver '06 GTO and my friend put it in 3rd and lined up with the GTO...HAHA, it was one of our friends and he also had a passenger. Anyway on 3 honks were off and my friend in the GTO pulled about 1/2 a car and he pulled about a few more inches before we shut it down...the 2nd run was the same outcome. I expected more from the GTO. Oh by the way, the GTO is STOCK and the MACH1 had SLP Loudmouth exhaust... So today I raced my friend in my SS (with a fucked up tranny) we raced 2 times and it was DEAD EVEN...I couldn't get it into 4th that fast because my tranny was grinding, but it was a good race! I thought he should have pulled me and pulled the Mach harder...

Nice runs. Mach 1's are quicker than most give them credit for.

Good races! I feel that all three of those cars are a drivers race with strengths and weaknesses at different intervals.

Who says Ford can't build an N/A perfomance motor to compete with GM & Chrysler. Either way, went to the Corvette Challenge & GM EFI day at Raceway Park in Englishtown on Sat. Have to admit though, some of those GTO's with a little work were getting some serious E.T/s and trap speeds. Those cars do run strong! Running there was also a real Monaro. It had all the emblems that rembled a Lion. Even the rims were different. Talking to the guy who owned it, he said that these GTO's have different Hp numbers because they are not restricted the same way as they are in the US. He was running a 12.2 @ 114mph.

How many miles on the GTO? Tell him to get a tune (predator, dyno, etc.) and you'll be surprised how much it wakes the car up... (Torque Management is a bitch ) Good runs!

well, just to gve u an idea of the outcome after u get headers, i raced my frineds auto 06 GTO with a custom SS X-pipe and catback and im untuned with full exhaust and some other small ****, well, we went on three honks from a dead stop and i instantly pulled about a car then slowly pulled another 1/2 car until we shut down. I was impressed with my car considering i just put down 303/303 on a dyno this weekend. i need a tune bad. i saw an 06 GTO M6 put 335 with a catback on the dyno the same day.
