Default Good ol talon owner.

I know this guy who ran 13.1 with his talon today at the track. Tonight one of his friends that also owns a talon says it ran bad because it was 60 outside and thats too cold for the motor, lol. He kept tring to fight me that these cars work better when they are "HOT" :p. Just had to say how dumb this kid sounded.

A friend of mine that I worked with last summer ran his Talon TSI the other day. I felt bad for him, he was so sure he was going to run 13s but the best run he made was a 16.1. I don't think it was his driving that screwed him up though. It seemed to be throwing a puff of black smoke out of the exhaust everytime he shifted and when he launched. He tried telling me thats what the turbo does. I'm not a turbo guy myself so I didn't argue but I didn't think thats what a turbo is supposed to do. Then again maybe it's because he wasn't running it "HOT" enough .

black smoke is usually fuel not oil. So the car might be running rich.

Yea my buddy ran 12.9 @108 mph. with is 1st. gen.awd DSM. He's getting a bigger turbo know and bigger injectors so I might have to watch out for him on the street now. I have respect for those cars because I live 5 min. from Extreme Motorsports which has the fastest dsm in the world and a lot of the guys that work there have 11 sec. rides.
