They are slow but anything can be fast with F/I.

Very true statement. I almost lost to a 350z while in the vette. turbo's can do a lot for a car.

Ummmmmm what year M3 was it? The last gen m3's the ones with 333hp are on par with a stock ls1. So if the m3 is slow, so is your car!

I agree they aren't slow, but I disagree they are on par with an LS1. On the big end, I believe the two cars would run together from what I've seen and heard. Now on the low end, LS1 rapes the M3. That's my personal experience and I'm basically stock. I had an M3 talkin all kinds of **** to me. We rolled out (him in a stick, me an auto) and hit it from about a 10 roll and I put 5-6 cars on him in no time.

Ummmmmm from what i see they run mid to high 13s with low 100s for trap speeds, not what i call fast. And who said my car was anything close to a stock ls1 or m3?

They're still a good run for a stock F-body... I think that's what he was getting at.

Yes that is what Im saying. But they do not trap low 100's, more like 106-108. From a dig or a roll, the ls1 and m3 are evenly matched.

no this is what happens in a stock ls1 vs. a stock m3. (driver is bad from a stop but you can see what happens from a roll)

my blazer is in the first couple races.......

BMW- E46 m3 smg stock
WS6- 6-speed stock
blazer- 13/14psi breaking up. faster on 11psi(tune) otherwise stock.

Low 13's car.
Especially the DSG since it can outshift you!!!

Buddy just traded his for a M5. His 3 was bad as hell.

I have seen several M3's at the track run mid to high 13's. I have NEVER seen one trap 106-108.

Just for the sake of saying it, there is a guy here in houston I've personally seen go 12.9 @ 106 in a stock E46 M3. And there is also a turbo one that was trapping 120 on pump gas. Pretty nice if you ask me.

E46 will trap 106-108 only with a 6 speed tranny, with a great driver, and in neg. altitude. It happens, but very very rarely.

Well in that case _Zac, does HRP have a negative DA?

It certanly could... mid 40's with high pressure at anything under 500ft elevation...

But what I was trying to say is that e46 running those traps is like saying every f-body can hit 12's stock...

Well yeah... but every M3 coupe is basically the same (besides the transmission differences). LS1s have gear differences, differences in power output depending on year AND quite a few "factory freaks," etc,... so while every 6spd M3 doesn't run the same times, it can be assumed more-so than the F-body that it should atleast be *capable* of those times in the right conditions.

Sure, but I've never seen e46 trap that high and on their forums and other places average trap speed is around 102-104mph.
