I don't see this post as any different than numerous other ones that simply want someone to back up a claim, or have the cajones to admit they were exaggerating. You don't even have to say, "I was wrong." -- it could be as simple as "O.K., I got carried away and exaggerated."

I just don't understand why anyone would care this much, I'm sure everyone here has a neighbor, friend of a friend, or cousin or something that thinks their car can do more than you know it can, but do you put up a big ad in the local paper, or at the market calling him out? No, you would normally ask to race and shrug it off.

Who cares? Let them think/say what they want, in the end if it's not true they still lose.

I just think he is used to seeing people get called out on their claims. Heck, I wouldn't mind seeing a video of Cap'n pulling off a 200mph run.

You're suggesting that I should "take up" for a guy who claims to
be able to run 200mph on the highway? Before I'll sign up to that,
I want to see some info:

- Tire height
- Gear ratios (tranny / rear end)
- Power level
- Coefficient of drag
- Aerodynamic mods
- Etc...

Of course, proof would be the best bet.

But hey, I'll just "take up" for a Ford guy.

I'll tell you right now that my car isn't capable of 200mph...and I'm
pretty damned sure that I'd stomp the 3rd gen in question.

Use the search function and sift through my 20,000+ thousand posts
then you can pass judgement on me. Until then....shhhhhh.

Smokey, just man up and admit that your car can't do it. No need to actually try. I'm sure no one here will hold it against you. I don't doubt your car would come closer than mine. I'm sure you honestly believed that your car could hit 200 based on your poor composition of facts. I know that your car is not suited to, and is unlikely able to do it.

Here I am, and 200mph wasnt in question, it was more like 190. People just wanna exaggerate it more to make me look dumb. I am not going to go and put my life at risk to prove people wrong on the internet. I might make a 185-190mph run just to show ole cj how ignorant he is to think that a 600hp 3rd gen cant do 190. Im not going to argue this with the naysayers cus we already had a thread and people ignored facts. But seriously dude, you started a thread over this???? You obviously have too much time on your hands. I just read through my posts in the other thread and none of them seemed illogical and I clearly stated that it was by no means safe to do those speeds. Can someone lock this up before it turns into another flame war? I will post the vid in due time, until then Im tired of hearing about this ****.

I don't see it..no ****** way.
That Engine Combo is setup for Torque..probably runs out of breath at around 5500 RPM's..max. The Mid-lengths don't help it either..and it's only a 350ci Displacement.

Personally if I had the Tires, I would run mine side-by-side with ya..even with the A4, just to show you what 600+hp NA does.

I'm thinkin the big-cube Multi-Port Fuel-Injected LSX Engine running up to 7000 RPM's with one of the best Heads/Intake Combo on the Market and a Cam to open them up(they are 15* Heads) will be the winner there..maybe not 200mph, but alot closer than your setup on that ZZ4..
Just my Opinion though..

No time slips, never said it was quick. I cant afford to drag race and youre pretty dead on about my motor setup except I get to about 5800rpm before it dies, it does well in my light car. I seem to run with 116-119 trapping cars on motor and have pulled some 125+ cars on a 160 shot. Id love to run your car, Id definitely get my *** whooped on motor but bottle to motor, I think I'd get ya. It doesnt take rpms to get speed when you have a 6-speed though.

I beg to differ..I have a set of high-flowing Heads, a Big Cam, and an Intake setup to properly feed them. The more RPM's you get, the more HP you pull out, and that gets you your speed.
And M6's benefit with RPM's, Auto's use the Torque more effectively on the Strip, that's a proven fact. The wider Gear Band in the Auto cause of the ratios use the Torque quite well..
Keep in mind that M6's trap higher Speeds than A4's..RPM's there as well..
And I am willing to bet my 4th Ratio, which is a .70, spinning at 7000RPM's with a 26" Tire will have alot more speed than if it was at 5800 RPM's..

As far as a race goes, you might get me out of the hole with that Spray, but as soon as I get into second and into the powerband..might as well put wings on my Car..

So you have no Time Slips, but you have Trap Speeds..
