Default smoked my buddys Modded Grand National...video comming!

So today my buddy called me who owns the cammed C6 Z06...he was running his buddys cammed/n20/full exhaust C6 again and he wanted me to video tape...so i agreed and went and met up with them...well when I got there, there was a little suprise. His buddy was sitting there with his MINT modded GN, and he wanted to run me. It has headers, full exhaust, Intake, plug wires and is boosted to 17psi (he said 13psi was stock) and has some MT drag radials on the back....car only has 30K on it....well anyways, i thought it was going to be a good race, and he thought it would be close also. My buddy grabbed my video camera and jumped in the GN to get some footage. We get out and go from a 35 roll.....were dead even untill my turbo kicks in. By 110 I had about 6 cars on him. He wanted to do 2 more runs....again, we line up at a 30 roll, hit it and bam, my car didnt shift to 2nd so i let off...3rd run, we go from a 50 drop. He pulls a car ahead of me, I spool and when i hit 110, hes about 4-5 cars back....Video will be up in the next few days...My turbo screams in the video...everyone will get a good sound of what she sounds like

have you ever tried driving a turbocharged car making decent power from a stop? its not as easy as you think bub. When boost hits, you fishtail. Thats why we agreed to do it from a roll so we didnt have traction issues. Im on street tires, and he was on MT drag radials.

Not one street race I've ever been to has been from a roll... unless it's just goofing around with a buddy.. they aren't like the real streetraces I'm used to seeing.

Sounds like his GN was a mid-low 12 sec car at best, and they are about as aerodynamic as a brick. A roll sucks with a GN, A bone stock longblock, tubo, and intercooler.. basicly a 98% stock GN.

Yes, I have, look at the sig.. a lot more HP that either of these 2 cars were making. It drives straight as an arrow launching on the street with adjustable airbags in the rear springs, koni spa1 50/50 in the rear, 70/30 up from, south side lift bars, pinion set at -4 degrees, and an ATR drag spring and swaybar kit. This is on 275 nitto DR's. Holds a 10psi launch on the street with the chevy S10 rear drums.

You just actually have to do something other that work on the engine, that's only half of the work.

My motor is a BONE STOCK 3.8 from a 1999 camaro.

The only traction mods I have are BMR Lower control arms, and he only has MT drag radials....he gets alot less spin then I do from a dig....I havent gotten around yet to adding more traction performance things.

With a T76 and a FMIC, much more efficient heads.. yeah, I'd be pissed if I DIDN'T beat the GN.

sorry T72.. like your sig says.

Did you know a 44 was a popular upgrade and a bigger turbo than a stock turbo? Just to give you an idea of the difference between his and yours.

turbo's aside...I took a Bone stock 3.8 camaro, built a turbo kit for it and called it a day. Stock for stock, a GN would smoke me...actually it would be a silly race.

I've always been curious how much HP your car makes Kidcamaro. Do you have any dyno sheets or numbers you would like to post?

With the methanol, it should make around 410-460rwhp depending on how good the tune is on 15psi with my T72...but i havent installed the meth yet cause my battery charger went on my laptop so i cant use HP Tuners untill i get a new charger....

I had it dynoed a few months back for ***** and giggles on 10psi. What I didnt know is i had a Blown fuel injector O-Ring in cylinder 3 and all the gas was leaking out onto my motor...we found this after about 4 pulls then we had to call it a day...I also ran into another problem...

My car is a A4. So he would put it in 3rd gear, but everytime he would mash the throttle it would downshift to 2nd and throw everything off. So he would hafto ease into the gas at 3K, then around 3500rpm's he could WOT it....however we had to shut down at 4500rpm's because I was maxing my MAF and it was cutting my injector pulse inhalf, causing it to go dangerously lean at 4500rpms....This was also with my old turbo on 10psi (masterpower T70)....With all the problems going wrong, My car still made 305rwhp and 350rwtq by 4500rpms....pretty much everyone was very impressed.

410-460 is quite a large range, but none the less, pretty astounding for a V6.

theirs 3 guys over on fullthrottlev6.com with basically my same setup, on 14psi with the masterpower T70's that put down around 420rwhp....its not hard for us to do, its just all in the tune, and the methanol is just gonna make me get there that much easier since i will be able to add much more timing.
