Well after a very long dry spell i had a few fun runs with this younger dude in a Civic Si. My girlfriend and i were coming back from Meijer (Knapp and the Belt line)and in front of us is this very low,red(sharp looking) Civic Si. Well i knew something was up when at the stop light in front of us that was red and turned green this guy kept on the brakes until he was around 30 mph or so and we were right behind him with no one in front of him. His exhaust started to scream and he pulled away pretty quickly,well i thought this would happen so the second i heard the noise and saw him pull,i dropped the hammer. And to my surprise i did not simply smoke this guy. I had to chase him for much longer than i thought i should have.
I did pull within a few feet of his rear bumper at around 75 from about 1.5 cars back at 30.
So now i am very interested in what this guy has going on and wait for our next chance to run(we found traffic). I paced behind him and at about 65 he down shifted and tried to pull away again. Well we pulled right to his rear bumper again and this time i was going around, but found on coming traffic and i had to pull back.
That is not what i wanted to do! At the next stop sign he turns and on goes about 10 mph until i get right behind him. He jumps and so did we. Well this time i walked right around him and put about 3 car lengths on him by 60.
He stops next to us at the next stop sign and asked what was done to the SS,then tells me he has a Jackson charger and is pushin 11 pounds of boost.
I have to admit the car ran real good on a roll,but could not even hang from a dig. He was very cool and asked if i sprayed him( My girl and i kind of chuckled) and said no.
This guy was real cool and his car looked rear sharp(not riced out AT ALL) (Maybe we should of sprayed him once just to show him the difference,LOL)
Well anyway that is the fun i had tonight. Have i ever said i LOVE this car?!

Yep, not all import drivers rice their cars out.. I know quite a few with nice cars, but they still aren't that fast

At the local street races there is a Civic with a turbo. Don't know how much boost he is running but he can spank stock and slighly modded LS1's. The thing is he always gets taken out of the hole but fetches REAL HARD at the top.

I was looking at buying a jackson sc'd Si with tuning and what not from one of the rice shops here in town until I was told he wanted 20,000 for it. Was pretty fast for what it was though, no fartcannon or anything on it Was nice going into their shop though and seeing all the honda hatches that had cooked their motor when they kept turning up the boost

Just the other day I saw a Horrible lookin' Civic with no bodywork under the hood and headlights. I think it had one of those butt-ugly body kits that kissed the pavement one time too many ( the car was pretty low) even the rear had damage down below the bumper. But what really got my attention was a big intercooler behind where the bumper should be. There was lots of traffic and cops, so we didn't get to run, but he did pull up next to me just so I could hear the turbo spool-up.

Nice kill Dave. You should've sprayed him though to teach him a good lesson. Pull up at the light next to him and tell him that's what an 11.5 sec 1/4mile looks like!

On second thought, it's better that you didn't spray him. You've already scared off all the Mach1 "competition". Gotta eat some rice every once in a while.

Thanks Dan, lol . I dont really think he beleived that i did not spray,but then he did not want to run when i told him i was gonna spray.

A supercharged civic boosting 11 psi will only produce around 180-200 at the wheel. On the other hand, a turbo si civic will make at least 250-260 at the wheel. A friend of mine just went to houston raceway park and ran a 12.8 at 113 with 10 psi of boost on a stock motor. Oh, that was on drag radials too. Theoretically, you should spank 100% of civic's but be carefull one day you might run into the wrong one.

Belt driven chargers do lose about 14% of the power through the belts. Just out of curiosity though why is it that a supercharger with 11 psi is putting out less than half of a turbo with only 10psi on the same motor? Not doubting just wondering. I would've guessed the #s to be more around 215-230hp on the supercharged motor. Stock Si's are still around 160hp right?

I don't care what kind of boost he's running. He can't hang with Dave's SS. 12.8's is respectable, but it's a joke if you're talking about fast cars. I saw a kid in a turbo civic barely crack 13's. Kind of funny really.

hi, i'm new. if you can't tell i drive an import. ya i know, booooo.i happened on this site by luck and started reading some posts. i just wanted to say that i am impressed that most of you respect import cars. don't get me wrong there are more homo ricers than non-homo ricers, but it's nice to see that this board is pretty cool. i do have some friends that would give some of you guys a run for your money! i.e. some supra's that run low 11's and a 589 whp turbo civic (with no nos) that is stret leagal. anyway just wanted to hi and to let you know i have changed my opinion on muscle car guys.

Generally speaking we don't respect imports. We do however respect fast cars that deserve it. Most imports are riced out grocery getters with a fart cannon and a picnic table for a wing. If you can get a 4 cylinder into the 11's, I'll give you the props you deserve.
