Ive personally found a lot of respect for the Merve after reading this entire post..And Merve..One thing that Ive learned is that weather you live in Colarado or hawaii or drive an Evo or Viper people will always doubt you, when you pull a win over a respected car...It wasnt long ago that i beat a heavily built Supra in my stockish 2003 viper...I had my wife in the car and the top down and beat him from a 70-130 mph roll race..Even my own friends doubted me and I was called a liar and so fourth by more than a few people...A week later I did the same thing again on video and the Supra finally beat me on the last race when he turned his car up to max power and blew the engine after beating me by 1 car at 155 mph..But the races before the last one were he was agin on his every day settings i beat him just like the first time were I was called a liar....So dont worry man. you beat the suppossedly unbeaTABLE CAR IN YOUR OLD *** LT1...Thery're gonna hate..Screw em..you didnt use NOS and thats dam right respectable
Thats very respectable, but no one understands where we're coming from. No one ever denied him beating the vette. Wether he used N2O no one should care. A win is a win. But It's how you make your win appear to everyone who wasn't there is why everyone is hating. Tell the whole story and quit trying to coerce everyone into stroking your ego. Had you mentioned the guy had a passenger and didn't hook up, this thread probably would have ended a few pages back with a "great job Merv", "Good kill Merv","hell of a run Merv". It's not all about the car. It's about the driver, the attitude, the whole atmosphere of the situation. That's how you get respect, thats how you keep everyone locally from hating on you.

^^That was his choice to have a passenger, I didn't make him. That and he jumped the Gun..red-lighted by about half a car, in all reality at the Track he would of lost right there. I still launched like ****, and chased him down. One car just purely out-powers the other, and is properly setup. If he had the TC on..then that's on him, I don't have that stuff, so I had to feather it as well. As far as the Slicks, I need them to plant the power..I'm still working on the Suspension.
We can keep this **** goin or drop it right here. Randy was set ready to run as he was, and so was I, that was the agreement before hand. He expected to wax me from what I heard, obviously it went a little different than he planned.

So Merv when are you running Kris? Quit making excuses and run him. I think you should run Randy again. You beat him one time. See if you can make it twice. I think everyone wants to see You and Kris run anyway.

Hey Merv, I have been reading your threads and I will say first, GOOD JOB on the wins. Sounds like the car is running good.
I would like to say this though.
When you raced Randy, you on ET streets and him on run flat street tires in 30 degree weather, you winning the race is expected.
If you had street tires then the outcome would have been randy with the win.
Randy has 500 hp with a 6 speed and IRS = no traction
I know first hand. Randy beat my car in his viper due to no traction. I spun over half track (shackleford). I dought that Randy's Viper could run 9.10 in the 1000ft. factory race car. LOL
The fact remains that Randy agreed to race and lost!

Who cares what the setups were.
The Z agreed to race the setup he had, in that weather, that kind of race, and in that car. (he did buy it, so the tires and IRS arguements are all bullshit)
