Guys,

Keep it on topic please. Enough with the lame "Ford needed a blower
and GM needed big cubes" nonsense.

The 650hp is the LS9 engine though, those are not whp numbers. A Cobra mill with 650rwhp already puts you at 780-800hp. Not bad for a 4.6. Now an LS9 with a KB/Whipple and supporting mods..... Maybe 700+ rwhp, and plenty broken parts.

We are blessed to have this hobby and country.

That is completely irrelevant and off-topic...not to mention extremely
vague and inaccurate.

Keep it on topic or this will be locked and people will be on vacation from
LS1Tech for a while.

I'm rocksws6 I have a LS1 and I come to LS1TECH to talk to others with LS1's learn what works and what doesn't and here some of other peoples experiences. I thought that's what LS1tech was for, people with LS1's? Now I realize that I made too broad of a statement saying Ford guys. I've got no problem with you, Brain06eleanor, Irunelevens, etc. but some of these guys most of them mustang owners come to this website and this forum to start ****. That I have a problem with and I think you as a moderator should to.

I wasn't going to say anything, but... there was a Ford Rsch heavily modified for road racing. It was the "427" badged car w/detroit plates, test car only. I pulled him hard on the straights at a certain road course. I let off after bouncing on the rev limiter in 3rd at 6800rpm. He thought he was going to just blow by me on the passing stretch. ha ha. no way. He braked hard when he saw he was dead meat and turned off.

Then why are you in the street racing section? Stick to tech forums
if that's what you're looking for.

Think about that comment. LS1Tech provides a service, but it's
ultimately a business supported by our great sponsors. The sponsors
are also running a business and they are interested in selling parts and
building cars.

With that said, why should it matter if one's current vehicle is LSx based?
I've owned a LS1. I continue to learn as much as possible in the tech
forums for my next LSx project. Just because I don't own a LSx car now
doesn't mean that I won't have one soon. That will translate into some
expensive mods. It'll generate revenue for the sponsors and for LS1Tech
in return...and you'll have a site to learn about LSx tech and to complain
about Ford guys, which is ironic because some "Ford guys" are partially
responsible for the success of this board. I know for a fact that many
of the sponsors are "Ford people".

I used my situation as an example only of my point. People who are here
only to stir up **** will be dealt with accordingly, like always. I'll take
care of that.

Wow this is a crazy thread. So If I can recap just a little bit, all are saying good kill by the OP but some are saying that his car is modded and thats the only way he won. THen the facts about his car is 11 flat on the motor yet the GT500 was with in two cars of the Camaro and people are referring to the GT500 as STOCK. Well to me it sounds like the Camaro is stout as hell and the GT500 has SOME type of mods or it was a factory freak. Either way GOOD kill.

It's been said that the Camaro guy is **** talking or maybe a little cocky but the GT500 gave the Camaro the hit. Maybe he was the cocky one. I'm not giving nobody the hit because I know anything can happen. I don't give a dam if they are driving a KIA SPECTRA they get the next lane and we will see what happen.

Sorry OP for the rant. Good kill

Me being cocky street racing is the reason I have an LS1 now. I got so used to winning against imports that when an STI went on the 1st honk of 3 that I was caught with my pants down. My bolt on Cobra was sucking import exhaust, and I stayed in it to almost 150 mph, and even though I stopped his pull end result I lost.

I had beaten stock EVO's and STI's and damn that hurt, getting *** raped by an import.

2 weeks later the Cobra was gone and a nitrous LS1 was on its way, that being said I learned my lesson. I still give slower cars the hit, most of the time for 5 seconds. But I know that any given time, there is a car driving the roads that will send me crying home to my Momma!

Know the competition is what I always say, don't assume that because you heard Mach 1's are slow that your LS1 can anally plunge one. Don't assume because your buddys WS6 beat the worlds only stock Termy that the next one you come across won't show you its tail lights.
