I agree, but I would also reccomend the auto for the street if you are doing A LOT of dig races. Otherwise, Id go with a 6spd.

A built 6 speed automatic with paddleshifting. Best of both worlds - control, close ratio and perfect shifting every time.
The new 6L80E/6L90E is going to revolutionize our thoughts on muscle cars and racing. Automatics are going to be the wave of the future for muscle cars - stronger, closer ratio, better economy and no missed shifts, plus the ability to add a stall for better launching and shift extensions.

yeah i hear for street racing go with a M6. but i hear a built A4 is just as good? not sure though. only reason i got a A4 over a M6 is cuz im not really that good of a driver with a M6, in racing anyways. and there is no way im gonna chance learning to drive M6 LS1 especially knowing the rearends arent so strong.

pt4400 will run from any speed...its all about the setup..if you got a cam and heads then get a stall that matches them (500 rpm lower than your peak trq) or a th350 with a 3.42 rearend..40mph is the top of 1st...

automatic is boring. I love my 6speed
granted, my dads 1972 442 with a 455 big block and a turbo 400... is fun to drive, I just wish i could dump the clutch in that car

if you're only making 400hp. Start making some real power and it
becomes a son of a bitch to handle on the street with a M6.

I just say if u really wanna go nuts...TH400 that son of a gun and get a nice stall with tranny break and the right gearing.....your good till atleast a 135 mph run and youll get the dig and still have a good run for power in the gears!
but yea thats if you have the power to back it up.

Only way I would ever get an automatic car as my "fun" car would be if it was a track-only machine, or had so much power it was impossible to hook with a manual. I've been driving 5spds and 6spds from the time I was 16, and I just can't see not having atleast one manual in my driveway

IMO.. Auto.. If u were Serious about racing..Street or track..WHY?? Reliablilty..not in so much the parts but .. the CONSISTANCY.... I would not have an Auto.. im my car.. Unless it was just a Track/Street race car.. Period.. I like some of u enjoy the rush of shifting.. even though it can put u at a disadvantage IMO ..

Yes... and if I ever have a car that makes "real power" where I can't hook up with a 6spd, it will have an automatic. Which will also make it a "track only" car. Isn't that exactly what I just said?
