Default Anyone know anything bout Honda motors??

One of my friends just got done building a H22 CRX and is calling me out. He says he walks away from evo's.... not that walking away from an evo is hard, espically in our cars, but its fairly impressive for a honda
anyway this kid wants to run me, prolly for some $$ and besides that he has talked **** about beating me for as long as i remember so for reputation reasons i cant lose to him, and even more so losing to a honda lol

Is your car stock?

H22 CRX can go low 13s high 12s pretty easy...

I would go from a dig, if you got the tire for it. H22 is a pretty torquey motor for a N/A Honda, so he might light up his tires. To many variables to see if you will win though. What mods do you have? And any idea about what else is done to the CRX? Weight reduction, higher compression, ect?

my car full exhaust and a lid... but put down 360/355 to the tire so it definatly is a strong motor and runs 7.70s in the 1/8th with the stock 3.42s and since then i have put 4.11s in it.
the hatch is about 1/2 gutted, still has two seats radio etc but no carpet and ****, says it has header and intakeand he wants to go from a dig and then like a 50 roll

Assuming you can drive, you will win both.

I think you got it. Just depends on how he can launch. If he spins, you deff got it from a dig. 50 punch, I think our cars are just stronger up top, and you will have him. I raced a k20 eg hatch from about 40 mph...with his trans in second, he was pulling on me...but when he got into 3rd and I was still in second, I had him. I think your gears will also help with this race.

If you have time before the race, get some DR's? with this race...You hook, he doesn't, its pretty much going to be over. Play it safe with some radials. On a side note....your car looks great. picture detail is amazing. You take them yourself and edit them, or have a friend do it for you?

I wouldn't worry too much honestly. That car is almost definitely not going to hook up, and if he does, it's because he bogged the **** out of it.

The CRX could probably trap in the low 100 range, I would bet that you trap in the 106ish range so you'll walk all over him especially up top.

Yea, I wouldn't sweat it to much either...but anytime money is involved, I don't give ANYTHING to chance. One little slip up can cost you..thats why I was saying to be prepared for it also. He could hook up a little bottle to it, and that could cost you. When going for money, don't hold back, and just make sure everything is perfect. Other then that...good luck. You got this.

Good luck jordan. I think you have this one in the bag. Even if he hooks up you'll reel him in. I can't wait to see the vid

You got him. As long as you don't do a burnout during the entire run that is...

If it is only Intake/Exhaust H22, it's all you. If the engine is modded that's a different story. There is a white hatch from Camarillo with a 2.3L H22 N/A running mid-lower 11's on the street. (well with a slick of course) But that lil focker dead hooks off the line, it's crazy.

Just go out and get a DR of even borrow a set if you have to. Then it's a no worries game, unless you **** up during the race.
