This was my first filmed race in the Z06. I actually wasn't excepting to run but our friends we're swearing that he would beat me with his 100 octane tune. So, I gave into tempatation and ran him from a 40 roll.

good kill, but a full bolt-on 3v mustang will make about 315-325rwhp, nothing to brag about really lol. and what is this 100 octane tune thing, because a pred tuner doesnt have a 100 octane tune unless he had a custom tune done and saved it on the hand held tuner, which would be really dumb because race gas is not gonna help him much with the very few n/a mods he has

Why do people tune and put 100 octane in their cars? If its N/A and not running 45 degrees of timing its usless.

yeah its a custom tune that's saved on a handheld tuner. Those are all the mods he claims. He said he hopes to put down about 340rwhp.....

I'm not too sure about that one.. from the looks of it.

with full bolt-ons, minus headers i made 310rwhp and 32xrwtq thru 3.90s. so he will be lucky as hell to make 330rwhp

They were surprised... they really thought I was gonna lose. When he was putting his tune in his car, they all huddled around his car laughing because they thought I was gonna get murdered....

Ok he has Borla axleback, BBK X pipe, No Cats, BBK Throttle Body, BBK Throttle Spacer, BBK Headers, Diablo Tuner with 100 octane tune, Ford Racing fuel rails, Edelbrock fuel system, fuel pump, and injectors, Saleen underdrive pulleys, BBK Cold Air Intake. And I think thats everything...

tell your friend a fellow stang owner called him and idiot, and mine was tuned on 93. 100 wont give him maybe 5 more hp.

but as for his mods, idk y the hell he would upgrade any part of the fuel system. the pump and rails will support 500whp and the injectors will support prob 375whp. sounds like he let some shop rip him off

those people thought that you were going to lose? obviously they dont have much a background in racing.
your car stock makes more wheel horse's than his modded. your considerably lighter than he is, and much less drag on your vehicle.
plus LSx motors > mustang motor

Me too.. I wish I was able to go back to the meet after the run to hear what they had to say, but I had to take my girl to Huntington beach afterwards. But hearing their reaction in the video was priceless lol.

thats just my honest opinion. but from what i hear the blue oval guys are coming out with a new V8, the hurricane is what i think it was called if i remember correctly, so i guess we'll see.
if its any consolation though, the 03-04 cobras sound a whole lot better to me than an LS1

im just not much for the sound of an LS1 engine. having a trans am with an ls1, i do know first hand, on a daily basis just how they sound. and its not for me.
prefer the old school LT1 with headers and straight pipes
