i sure wish they would both do it because right now its impossible to say which ones better...i think they both need to build a same design SB same cubes and compression and put them on a dyno, and then say were better than u, until then this will be an endless debate...

zr1s are badass but to pull an extremely expensive, limited production motor out of left field and then add in your own "correction factors"(for the 15 year gap) is pretty ridiculous

Why not just say the LS6? It's 346 ci and cranking out the same power N/A.

Yeah, ZR1s are probably my favorite modern-era Vette (I'm a sucker for C4s, what can I say). BUT, it is a stretch at best to give even minimal credit to Chevrolet for it. The motor was engineered by Lotus, and manufactured/assembled by Mercury Marine. They sent the project to Lotus with the intention of it being pushrod actually, and Lotus made the decision to go DOHC. Which means they engineered the heads, cams, valvetrain, etc. for the whole motor. Awesome car though

I disagree. The Ecotec motors have amazing potential and are some of the best 4cylinder engines out there.

some of the ford people can be so ignorant a lot of them are here trying to start a fight. putting up with ignorant comments is part of life. UNIT has to put up with a lot and he drives a cobra. YOU FORD OWNERS SHOULD LEARN FROM UNIT! you dont see him going off. please show respect!

Hummmmm.... 4.6 GT's and Stock Lt1's. First your talking about a motor that was put in the 93 camaro's and trans am's. Your comparing them with 99 cobras and newer model mach1's. Compare some new performance cars or something. One of you were nagging about a GT500 and a Terminator walking all over a stock LT1! I would hope that they would be able to out run a stock LT1. If you want to be realistic compare the terminator to the 03-04 Z06, the car it was built to outrun but couldnt, not Z28's and Trans AM's from 2002. And as far as the new GT500 high 12's are not impressive for a car that makes 450 at the wheels. Hell the terminators are said to be slightly faster in the 1/4. I dont like the fact that chevrolet supercharged the new ZR1 but the Z06 is still the N/A king!

lol when was the mustang EVER meant to compete with the corvette? o wait it wasnt. last car ford made that was to compete directly with the vette was the t-bird.

heres a stock motor gt500 w/ and w/o nitrous. not too bad for a heavy pig w/ a little 5.4.

+1, they're nearly dipped into the 10's almost stock. they will run mid 11's all day in stock form with a good driver.

There was a article in motor trend with the 03 Cobra VS the 03 Z06 head to head and was said by motor trend to be the rival to the Z06 for that year since the Z28 and T/A were not produced anymore. Research and you will find it.
