Default I was killed... no... slaughtered

Imagine this:

Your sitting at a red light with your girl(boy?)friend in the car. A red car pulls up on your left, a shiny red car. The first thing you see is the black and red Z/28 on the nose, and the first thing you hear is a lumpy rev. Its on.

That was me versus a 1969 Z/28 the other night, but when the light turned green, and I punched it, I had allready lost. He was 2 cars ahead of me before I could even get halfway though 1st, and gone from reach by the time 2nd came.

I came up to him on the next light, the smell of unburnt gas pouring from the exaust, and freshly roasted rubber filled my car. The only thing the guy said after I gave him 'the nod' was:

"Id show you whats its got, but Id get in trouble."

You have so many engine and drivetrain options with a 69 Camaro.Just having Z28 emblems does'nt mean that the car is a 302.That car had the benefit of 34 years of updates and mods.He could easily be making over 600hp.Besides I like 69 Camaros especially Z28s with the RS option.

Gimme a '68 RS/SS with a 396 and I'll die a happy man. And for all you that think all the kids are into imports, this is coming from somebody who just turned 18 in April...

I say go big....

69 with a blown (8-71) 471CI all bore engine (502 block = 4.468" bore, 396 crank = 3.76" stroke).....that thing will love RPM.....

put a good 5 speed manual, a HEAVY duty 12 bolt, and some tubs with slicks behind that engine and that is a hot rod.....

thats from a 19 year old.....

Then you would like my brother-in-law's 68 RS with 454, GMPP Alum. heads, cam, air gap intake, blah, blah, blah, and oh yeah a litlle spray.

I'll see if I can dig up a pic.
He also has a 67 RS/SS vert, but it's waiting on resto.

I love the comment he gave you haha!

I got destroyed by a similar car with a blown 540 in it. He runs low 9's@140-145mph with mig McCreary DOT slicks on it.

Similar story. I hit it, he hit it, I was down by 6 cars before the end of second. (I am running 11.1s@124mph) haha

Some of those first gens are SICK FAST

camaro guy, you like big? you should take a look at my fathers 555 N/A pump gas motor that puts out 700ft-lb and 700hp@5800 rpm. were having trouble getting it to hook right now so it only does 10.30's and when we get it too hook i'm sure i can convince him to use the 300 shot

If he did that to your car you dont need mods... you need another engine and a HUGE slingshot thats big enough to launch your car... LOL.
Nice death.
