Default WS6 vs Mach 1

So I was out toying around with a buddy tonight, I just got my 315 Nitto Drag radials back on my car with the new TTMs so I have been itching for a good race.

Beat a couple of Hondas that I didnt even downshift to beat...then I am headed down Cherry Ave in Fontana right in front of California Speedway and pull up to the light next to a late 90s 5.0 mustang that sounded good.We exchanged revs and took off at the light. By the time I hit 60 I barely saw him way back there.

A truck was in front of me so I slow down and pass it when all of a sudden a red Mach 1 comes flying by, I tried to catch up but he had a good jump on me.So at the next light he brags about how many stupid LS1s he has beaten.Blah Blah Blah...light turns green and I jumped about two lenghts in front and gain a length for every gear. Then he pulls up and says lets go for a 50mph roll(which is great for me...2nd will be perfect), so we do and by the time I let off at 100mph I had about 4 or so lengths.

At the next light I say "Dont feel bad, I cant tell you how many stangs I have beaten"

Sorry for the long post, hope at least it was entertaining

Sorry forgot to post that...Its an 01 WS6 M6 with a K&N, SLP lid and bellows, edelbrock shorty headers, ORY, Loudmouth, 315 Nitto DR and a couple BMR suspension parts...LCAs and Torque arm.

He said he was stock but he at least had a muffler

In all honesty if I was made as some form of torture to buy a mustang it would be a Mach 1. I actually like the Mach 1s more than I like the Cobras.

Have beat many a Mustang in my day...I havent been beat by one in My WS6 but I really havent raced any nice ones yet...just late model stockers.

Very Nice I wondered how an LS1 will run with a Mach 1. My girlfriends, sisters boyfriend has one and last fall we were going to take them out but never got the chance because he is in the Air Force and old man winter rolled in. We always have the GM/Ford talks. He is stock and thinks its the S*** but When summer comes around I would like to show him.

stock for stock its not a race in favor of the lsx. I too have beat more mustangs than I've lost too and haven't lost any since acquiring my ls1. Like you said though just haven't raced any modded stangs with good drivers. I'm due any time now though.

If you're talking about a 99-04 GT you're are correct but all you need is the "driver" mod to hit low 13's in a stock Mach 1 5spd. With full bolt-ons and gears a Mach 1 would be at least in the mid 12's on street tires.
