Default VIDEO 2/1/08 9 sec 408 ci w/big shot Z28 vs 8 sec TT 408 ci TA

I (LOSLS2) did a cam swap last weekend and then had one (unrelated) problem after another. Darrell (CrispySql) was able to work out one of my problems last night just before our meet in order to make this race possible. Not to blow our own horns but this is about the best racing that I think is possible on the street. Everything from prep, to people being at safe distances, to the speed of the cars, to the run out was awesome. ENJOY!

He had to pedal in the first race cause he got a little loose at the 100' or so. The second race was clean. I think that he is pushing a little more boost now than when he ran the 8.8 @ 155 I think that it was. My car has had some changes since my last time out which was a 9.5 @ 142 the same day that he ran his 8.80.

At this power level, it is difficult to control boost.

Oh yeah I fully understand.... and I fully agree.....I just figured a bunch of turbo guys would jump all over you. Probably if this was posted in a more serious section like drag tech, there would be.

This section is mostly full of slow cars, like mine, or slower bolt on cars, so maybe thats why we havent heard from any turbo guys

Carlos...

Good stuff.....get that car to the track and lets get some real world numbers on your current set-up with the new cam.

You guys have too much fun street racing in Florida....LOL

Was that some desolate highway in the middle of the night? Seemed like not to much else going on besides you guys lining up....I had to laugh hearing your buddy's car backing back up over the sticky fresh burnout tracks....I take it you guys prepped the street with trackbite first?

Good runs!

Tony

We've got that street hookin better than the local track!!!!!

I layed about 2 gallons of VHT in the lane the T/A was in, and i'm pretty sure Steve layed at least that in Carlos' lane!!!

I can't wait to get my car done and get back out there with you boys and join in the fun, good race for sure Carlos!

Can't wait to see the rematch!!! Darrell's just gotta leave on more boost and bring it in faster, he was really only in higher boost when he got to third gear. That first run was bad, he had the tire pressure way too high and it spun out of the hole and was still spinning when he hit 2nd and the boost was set for a little higher in 2nd than first and that's what kicked the *** out.

I could tell you but then i'd have to kill you.

We were fortunate enough to find a nice stretch of fresh, flat 2 lane road that does not get used much at that time of night. There happens to be a concrete slab that is nice and long to launch from also. And then there is the thousands of dollars worth of VHT compound and drag radial burnouts that combine with a really long runout to make for as controlled as an out of control environment can be.

We should be having a track rental at BMP coming soon. I will get some digits then.
