Default Fairlady Z vs. DD MR2

So I got the DD dynoed yesterday and it put out some great numbers for a pretty much stock car. Went out and rode up to the local street meet place, then got some gas and found a 350Z that looked like he'd run me. He had a cut off exhaust with no tips and looked like it just hung there anyway we head out to the highway and mess around but there a a little traffic. Finally get ahead of everybody and he actually knows I want to run.
we slow to 40 on the highway with no one and and 3 honks we go. I hit it in 2nd gear and immediately put a car and 1/2 on him - I kept that lead all the way up to 4th, but when I shift into 4th at about 90 he starts gaining on me (aerodynamics ) and ends up about a car ahead by 100-110. I thought it was a good run on the highway, but now it's moddin time.

I had mine set at 17psi. It would fall to 14psi around 5,000rpms. I loved that ******* car though! Fun factor was through the damn roof!!!! Too bad it wasn't practical. I hated not being able to throw my junk in the back seats.

Well #'s are in the sig but I hit right at 196rwhp and 202rwtq - at 20% DTL that'd be ~245hp and 255tq. I think the only thing I need now is a free-er flowing b-pipe, an intake, boost-controller and a fuel cut stop. Think I can get all that for about $500 and gimme about 50rwhp more that is if I'm on stock boost (don't know if previous owner cut wastegate springs for 8-9psi). This thing is a blast, but yea not very practical, that's what I have the T/A for

^No.

200ish at the wheels with mild mods on a light car is fun though.

In the end one of the cool things around here is that everyone talks in terms of WHP, which eliminates a lot of BS.

Yea I'm just taking 20% as a standard, can't really tell now can we. Once I actually get some mods then we'll see how it really reacts. I would be quite embarrassed if it ends up being faster than my LT1 b/c I've spent much more money on it.

A 20PSi 383 is not going to be slower than a mild mod MR2 unless its towing a boat. Dont get me wrong, the 3SGTE is a stout motor, but unless you do a S362 or 35R or larger and everything to go with it including some good gas or meth injection a 20PSI 383is going to pull it pretty bad.

Well that 383 is a while in the making. I don't exactly have the $$$ right now for the setup I want so it's gonna stay bolt-on's and a 100-shot until I finish school and have dollars to play with
