Default Poser in new Saleen didnt want to race...

Today I saw a nice new Saleen at the gas station today, I pulled in saw him checking my car out I was doing the same, went in got a water we left at the same time. He was some pretty boy all dressed up most likely a dealer because it had dealer plates on it. Got behind him at a light no go...then got beside him doing 60 (perfect downshift speed) there was no traffic in front of us for about a mile. He had the horse blinders on, talking on his phone most likely with his mommy cring because a Camaro is trying to race him. Would of been a good race I believe they run high 12's. Im sure 20 ford boys will be in to confirm this....

What type of Saleen first of all. They run anywhere from mid-high 11's to high 12's-low 13's.

The S2813V has 335hp stock and might be able to tick off a high 12.
The S281SC has 465 could hit a mid-lower 12
The S281E has 550hp and could hit high-mid 11's with a good driver

Looking on the Mustang forums the non sc is running low 13's. SC is high 12's, Extreme not sure. I quess there biggest problem is tring to hook up with the bling bling 20" dubs yo. Im pretty sure it was the SC model by looking at the badges on there sight. Sucks, drove around all day and no one would run...got behind 3 mustangs and they duck onto the 1st right hand turn they can find.

Yeah that is the only thing I don't like about the Saleens. If they put at least 18's on there it would be so much easier to hook up.

I agree. I don't see any point in bashing someone who doesn't wanna street race. I turn down challenges from possibly good matched opponents from time to time. Its just not always prudent, and sometimes I'm just not in the mood. Plus, some ppl just aren't into racing on the street........even those who have really well built cars. I know a couple of guys like that.........10 and 11 sec street cars, and won't stretch the car's legs on anything but the tarmac of the local strip. You can't fault them for that.

Now, if the other guy shows off and then doesn't follow thru with an actual race...........that's lame.

Didnt mean to bash. I dont blame him I quess, it was a new $55k car with no miles on it im sure of it. Plus he would of looked stupid getting whooped by a $5500 car.

So why was the Saleen owner a "poser"? Did I miss this part? All I read was a jealous GM owner bashing a Saleen owner because he didn't want to run his nice limited made car against an average car...

Maybe he didn't want to waste his time and gas on you. I've done this to cars before.

Sounds like someone may need to grow up a little bit and realize not everyone races their cars. I know a few guys that have cars that break into single digits but they don't race them on the street and rarely take it to the track. I personally wouldn't build a car that fast and not race it but its their car and their money.

My definition of poser is someone that has something but doesnt use it for what its made for. **** if I have 465hp under my foot im going to use it. For example my friend when growing up, had to have the fastest quad made (Quadracer 500) at the time but never got the thing out of 2nd gear, I had a Banshee at the time and use to call him a poser beause he wouldnt get on it, he would just lean up against it and pose.

I guess that qualifies about every Veyron driver.....98% of Ferrari's,Lambos, 95% of Vette's do I need to keep going? Some people don't wanna wreck their investment racing on the street against a $5500 car.

Like you said, it could have been a dealer car. In which case, this guy driving the Saleen deserves props for being responsible, it wasn't his car to thrash.

not to mention you said it might be a dealer.

granted he's not the owner of the dealership, do you have any idea how fucked he would be if something happened(ticket, crash, hurt the car, etc.)? some things are more important than racing a kid in a run of the mill car.

It seems like in my experience that most of the really nice cars don't race. My buddy has a built SRT8 and will not race anyone... He just like the sounds and mean look too it. When its done it will have 600hp and he still will not race. Its just not his thing.

Not everyone buys a fast car to race. Hell, I only buy cars to destroy them at highspeeds to prove my invincibility.

They made a movie about you, and cast Bruce Willis.
