If I wanted a half-ton truck I would get a Titan (personal preference), but anything heavier duty than that would be one of the new Ford Super Duty trucks. IMO The Quest and Odyssey are the best minivans out there. Compact trucks, Nissan/Toyota. I refuse to blindly support something because of where it comes from, even if it's my own country. Doing so does a dis-service to the industry IMO, because it does not force them to make the best product they can.
And then what??
I.E.; when they DO make not only "the best product they can", but one that is superior to the Nippon competition??
What's your answer as to why the brainwashed sheeple will keep on buying their beloved, 'perfect'<-- f'ing Camrys anyway, for a higher price no less????!!!!

People buy Accords/Camrys because of their reputations... the new Malibu looks really nice, and from what I've seen/read it *should* be damn near every bit as good as the "Nippon" () cars. BUT. There is no history of Malibus being good cars. Just like there is no history of the Cobalt being good cars. In the case of the Cobalts, there's actually evidence to the contrary (ie; Cavalier). For the past 2 decades or so, people see a Honda with 200k+ miles and don't think anything about it. My mom bought a '91 Legend new, and sold it in '98 with 245k miles. Still running fine. My dad had an '87 Accord that he sold in '00 with 235k miles. Still running fine. My first car was a '94 Integra GS-R that I BOUGHT with 134k miles, and I sold it with 193k on it. Still running like a top. So in 5-10 years when (if?) you see some of these great-looking new domestics chugging along with 150k+ on the clocks and minimal problems, then public opinion will change. Until then, some people are a bit wary and brand-loyal.

The launch control is insane. I'm not sure which I would pick, as I don't have $70-$80k to blow on a "toy."

Looks to be in the $70-$75k range.
The 11.5 (125mph trap) was with a Spec-V motor. It was never designed to be in a sanctioned racing class and in it's current configuration, probably never will. Too heavy.

As far as the F1 example, it isn't valid. They all have the same layout, not racing against lighter, more powerful cars. The AWD, which is its key to it's performance, would probably have to be removed.

It won't be competitive in its current form in racing. It is however, an awesome Grand Tourer.

I've seen several mid-high 11s tests, of regular GT-Rs. And I never said it was designed to be in a sanctioned racing class... I said it was designed to go around race tracks. Quickly. Which is does, even though it weighs 3900lbs. And I won't even address the "take out the AWD" thing, since the GT-Rs have used AWD since the 80s...

Someone said they GTR beats the Z06 in every test? really? 1/4 mile drag? no. (reminder that the Z06 bone stock on stock tires ran 11.13 @ 127.20)

Top speed? no. (gtr = 194, z06 = 198)

Around the ring? debatable.. need independant tests.

Yep... Ranger Armstrong was the first in the 10s, but he was on drag radials. If I recall, the quickest SHOWROOM STOCK Z06 is currently 10.80, compared to Ranger's 10.85. And I'm sure there are others as well.

Plenty of 11s, trap speeds no higher than 118mph that I've seen.

Point about AWD is that is it's key advantage. To get significantly lighter, that would have to be taken out. Skylines were lighter to begin with, not competing against cars 700lbs lighter....

Was it stock..or did it have Drag Radials...The only sub 12.8 F-Body passes I've ever heard of involved Drag Radials.
