So all the fastest/best drivers in the country live in Odessa, TX and they drive bone-stock LS1 F-bodies?
And you know for a fact they were completely bone-stock because they told you so?
BECAUSE I KNOW SO,AND NO THE BEST DRIVERS ARENT HERE
Avererage "everyday joes" (as you mentioned earlier) typically run in the mid-high 13's in the 1/4 - just like '03/'04 5-speed Mach 1's.
NOT A PRO DRIVER,THAT WOULD BE AN EVERYDAY JOE
Have LS1 F-bodies run 12.9's ? Sure they have, but the average, "everyday joe" isn't going to run that without tons of practice.
YOU ARE RIGHT I DIDNT SAY THEY WERENT GOOD DRIVERS
More than one '03/'04 Mach 1 has run 13.0's & a few have run in the 12.9's bone-stock with good/great drivers & great weather conditions, just like LS1 F-Bodies.
GOOD FOR THEM
I don't need a Terminator to run neck-and-neck with an N/A LS1 F-body - my stock-long-block N/A Mach does just fine...
GOOD FOR YOU
Where did you get the idea that an '03/'04 Mach 1 has 40-50 less hp?
WHAT DOES A STOCK MACH ONE DYNO AT THE WHEELS?
Also, since when does that same Mach weigh more than an LS1 F-body?
NOT SURE ON A MACH 1 SO ILL GIVE YOU THAT
For the record, the Terminator coupe weighed around 3650 lbs from the factory, 5-speed Mach's weigh around 3450 lbs stock. What do stock 6-speed LS1 F-bodies weigh completely stock? 3500 lbs? 3550 lbs?
I BELIEVE THAT IS RIGHT MAYBE A LITTLE LESS
Why would the LS1 be "starving for air" at 90+ mph???
There's just as much air available (more actually if you've got some kind of inlet ducting like a WS6 or Mach 1 ) at 90+ mph as there is at lower speeds.
NOT LIKE BEING FORCE FED
My (completely stock) Mach ran 13.4 @ 104+ mph in hot/humid conditions at a 900 ft altitude track when it was brand-new. Sounds like LS1 performance to me...
What did your LS1 F-body run completely stock?
What does it run now? You abviously run it at the track quite often, so your ET/Trap speed must be pretty good.
Dont have a 1/4 mile track but i pushed my stock ls1 to an 8.6 something in the 1/8 at almost 5,000 ft above sea level and on 90-100 degree days which is no where near the sea level that you run at,and for a reference i have seen cars go to houston which is probably pretty close to your level and run almost a full second faster ,so you cant really compare track times
My '03 Mach 1 with suspension/weight reduction/full exhaust/tuning runs high 10's/low 11's naturally-aspirated with a completely stock long block - no heads/cams/increased stroke/increased displacement needed...

Regardless of what you say and what you claim to beat, an LS1 F-body and a well-driven 5spd Mach 1 is a driver's race from a dig. Period. That's not one of those things that can actually be argued. They weigh roughly the same (maybe 50lbs more?), have ~40rwhp less, better rear-end gearing, and better transmission gearing in 1st and 2nd. From a roll the LS1 has the edge, but from a dig it's anybody's game.
what about a well driven ls1 six speed?

2002 pontiac gtp
1992 oldmobile ciera
1987 isuzu pickup
2001 ford lightning
1989 coupe
2008 honda trx450 and a 250
Not that I wouldnt own a ls1,just dont care for the styling all that well, but a new g8 I could go for.

Well driven LS1 6spd is a 13.0-13.2 car... a FANTASTIC driver can run 12.8-12.9 in perfect conditions. A well-driven Mach 1 is a 13.1-13.3 car... a FANTASTIC driver can run 12.9-13.0. How is that such a big gap that you can make the outrageous claim that an N/A Mustang isn't close to an LS1?

My Mach isn't completely gutted - it still has the entire interior minus the back seat & passenger seat
(typical weight reduction items when drag-racing). It also has a lightweight driver seat - another common 1/4-mile weight-reduction item.
It's no B/S.

My bone stock Mach 1 ran 13.22@105mph the second I went to the track. The very first time I went down the track in any car it went 13.5@104mph
Here is a video of my car w/ only a few cheap mods.

And the people that are running 12.9-13.1 in their Mach 1s aren't "pro drivers"... they're people that OWN the cars and actually make the effort to learn how to drive them correctly. 99 times out of 100 an experienced owner will run faster than a typical magazine will ever get. The only exceptions I've ever seen have been from Evan Smith at MM&FF (in F-bodies and Mustangs), but he's special

He probably knows it's a drivers race(it is a fact), he is just one of the guys that like to argue.
