98 TA, 3.73's, Vig3200, HPP3 for shift points and misc other, JBA Shorties, Mac OR Y-pipe, SIms, Cutout before stock SS muffler, Direct flo lid, K&N, FTRA setup, Smooth bellow, TR ported MAF ends, P&P TB, Taylor wires, NGK plugs. Sprint lowering, BMR relocation brackets, Spohn Torque arm. We are to run with streets, then DR's. i have nitto 555r's.

His, 91? Mustand GT. Stock 5.0 3.73's, H pipe, headers, flowmaster. T-5 manual, K&N, CAI, Aftermarket MAF, eldebrock lower and upper intake, underdrive pully's, no ac, emissions removed.

His car seems quick riding in it. He wants to run bad. My woman was talking trash to him...he wanted money on the race.........

My opinion would be that i would beat him....of course.....but, really.....what can i expect out of a car like this?

I've seen 5.0s with mods like that running very low 13s, but it takes an awesome driver to do it.

You should have no problem at all with your mods, it probably won't even be close, you'll beat him by 5 cars in the quarter.

I will say this.....he is a damn good driver with that manual. He shifted like a maniac!! It felt pretty quick...no doubt about that.......i have to think his speedo is off though...he was telling me we hit 125 in the sprint we ran.....i just don't see that in that area of running.....no way...his speedo was jumpy too....have a hard time beleiving it was working right.....pulled hard...that is for sure.

Also, just found out he did some valvetrain work. He said he can run up to about 7K Rpms now...so, whatever that would mean on a 5.0

Still should i be concerned?

I had a lot less mods then that I ran a 13.74 in my '86 GT on regular street tires. My '86 had stock heads,cam, & intake. Basically it was a bolt-on car with 3.73s and it ran pretty well. On a tire I'm sure that car could have run low 13s, so this car with intake etc may very well be into the 12s.

I do know it doesn't have a cam in it....positive about that.

a 14 second lt1 manual car felt as quick as my crawlin auto . manuals just feel faster.

You talking about you on your feat???? If so that should be about the ONLY CHANCE he has! I've dusted SEVERAL head and cam 5.0's even when my car was stock. He won't have a prayer on the street b/c that car shouldn't trap over 102 or 103 and your car should be in the 108 or 109 range.

I wouldn't give him anything though. I'de run him straight up. If he gets you anywhere during the race it will be in the first 1/8 of a mile(depending on how good your car hooks).

Well, traction shouldn't be a issue. I have the BMR relocation brackets, spohn torque arm to be d3elivered next week, and those nitto 555r's. like to grab for some reason....and also, jsut to get it out of my system, i ordered a hotcam kit today with new timing chain and oil pump to finish the install. I plan on having speed inc do a basic mail order tune with my computer after the cam install...to help with idle and take care of all the HPP3 settings and more......

I really want to hand him his *** so bad...cocky as hell about it all......that is what i can't stand about it all...........
