raced a viper killed a ..........kind of long
I spent my saturday at the woodward dreram cruise, fro thoses of you that dont know what that is its the largest classic car cruise in the world 40000 classic cars 2 million people or so. But any way I Was on wood ward south bound and was just north of birmingham the traiffc was kind of sparse and I had 3 other people in the car. I come up to a light with a mid 90s viper on one side and a 69 vette vert on the other. All of us start throwing revs, the light turns green and I just pedal out becuase most people will not race on wood ward. The viper was dead even with me and the Old guy driving was staring me down. Then he gunned it and I followed him both of us spun for 10-15 feet (weird cuz usually my car doesnt spin that hard from a roll with just me in it), we were dead even till about 35 and I pulled a half a car on him, he stopped trying at about 70 where I had about a car and a half on him. After that he drove really far back and even at the next light he must have sat at least 100 ft back from the intersection.
Also killed..................... my clutch with 44k on it its on its last legs, and my new firehawk sz50s they lost a couple of 32nds. Sorry for it being so long I was just stoked after beating a viper with 3 other peopl in the car.

Wow, great kill! Must've been excellent. I know how I'd feel if I killed a Viper! Hopefully soon I'll have a chance.

My car is just a mostly stock 99 firehawk. Slp lid and k&N granitelli maf, ngk plugs msd wires all free mods, gutted cats and oh yeah a slipping clutch after saturday and a whining rear for a while but I was supprised to say the least the only thing I can think of was that the old guy was pretty old and just couldnt shift fast enough, but I know vipers have pretty small rear gears stock so 1st should have taken him to at least 50 so idont know. needless to say im still really stoked and babying whats left of my clutch till I can get my spec stage III
thanks for all the

Yea we were cruising the other night, me and my friend Jeff(who has an 02 WS6), with our 18 year old friend Steven that has an 01 Viper GTS. We were on the interstate and played with him from about 50 mph. We hung with him for maybe 3 seconds but then the Viper checked out.

Good kill!
Vipers are one of the best cars to kill! The owners just can't believe it and must think their car is broke when my little 10K dollar Mustang puts buslengths on them. Not to take anything away from Vipers, but most of the people who drive them are typical mid-life crisis men who have been told they drive the fastest car on the road by the commission drivin salesperson. Hell, I remember beating Albert in the silver GTS back in 1998 in my RX-7 when he first got it. I wouldn't even consider racing him now though...

I can't believe that a Viper, even a mid-'90's Viper will go down to a lightly modded Firehawk with 3 people on board. But hey, you killed him, so nice kill.
