I agree though...for $60k its a bit of a waste unless you are a diehard mustang fan...in which case you have bigger problems, j/k
I'm curious where you people keep seeing them at 60k? I was just at the dealer today and saw two of them at sticker price (~42k).

The kid I beat, his dad paid $70 for his, thats coming from his dad not the kid. Its funny because his dad only paid $78k for his C6 ZO6.

Yeah every GT500 we've ever had come to the track has run at best a mid 12. I was expecting more from those.

The GT500s are badass looking cars. Those cars looks good. But i dunno i got into it with one on the highway and it was pretty ugly for him. But once they start modding gotta watch out. NIce kill man

You should show up one night, we got some people that should be good for you. You have track times?

Yes the sticker on the GT500 says 42k but ask the dealer and they will tell you 70k. Believe me I was in the showroom and asked how much and was told 70k. I was at a dodge dealer last week and they had just had gotten a challenger SRT8 with a sticker of 42k and told me they were looking for 20k over sticker, and that was an auto the sticks don't come out til next year. For 70k you can pick up a brand new Z06 if you shop around and goodbye Mustang....

How long ago did you ask?
I was there today asked the finance manager and sales manager and both said there isn't any more mark up because they've been having trouble selling the cars.

Anything is possible, especially when you add the street factor into it. I suck at driving a manual. I turned a 10 second TA into a 13 second painful to watch ride. Ive gotten better and probably wold have turn at Low 12 Mid 13 but I had just learned to drive a manual.

terminator cobra would be a much better choice

I call bullshit. No way a filter and a lid would get you over a GT500. Especially an A4.

Some people just really dont know how to drive man. Especially some kid whos daddy bought him the car, im sure after daddy hears his kid got beat by an Fbody he will buy him a KB for it or something.

If I hadnt done it too it would be tough to believe. Only differences on mine are an M6 with a good clutch and a catback.

Anything can happen. Hell i saw a '08 Viper run at the test and tune last wednesday. OMFG driver mod needed! Ran a 13.97@ 97.XX. Got beat by a stock LS1 in that race.

whats weird about it is even when in gear he said he continued pulling. that doesnt make sense regardless of driver.

I admit, driver mod may be needed on the GT500 kid. But still.. I've missed third in my friends LS6-swapped GTO racing a Cobra (circa 2004, fully worked, headers, intake, exhaust, cam, plus the blower), and I still ran pretty even. EDIT: On second thought, this isn't that hard to believe. My 5-speed Mustang GT (2007, cat-back, cat delete, intake, tune, suspension mods) took this 16 year old kids GT500 from a dead stop, and from a roll. My GT was barely making 340 at the wheels. His was make around 480. So I suppose I can attest to the driver mod.

good kill but i hafta agree with everyone else. yes if hes a bad driver you could beat one but while hes in gear he should have been sucking you up fast. mu guess is its a shelby GT!

I was going to raise that point, Ronaele, but I dind't want to insult the OP's car-fu. Did the "GT500" you were racing have stripes? Side-stripes reading GT-500? Curved out front grill, like the open maw of a Cobra? Cobra badging? Rediculosly low chin spoiler?
