99 z28 vs srt8 300c
So i was at the local spot sunday and got to run a 300c srt8. I talked to the guy before and asked him what he had done and he said all he had done was a filter. I just got my longtubes installed on friday and wanted to put them to use . So we talked for a few and agreed on a 25 roll. Ive raced one of these before and beat it when i just had a catback and so did he with a cold air intake and beat him by one car so i figured id beat him by atleast two now. Anyways we go and line up and he honked it off and we where gone. We where dead even all the way to fourth. When i hit fourth i started to creep away and we stopped at 120 and i only had him by a fender to half a car. I thought that was a lil odd. What do you guys think? Also i was told buy a kid that knows him that hes sprayin a baby shot but not to sure.

Im positive the 300 in this thread did not have a shot, who would run a "baby" shot on an SRT8. All the shots I see are 75-150 on SRTforums. Nobody in thier right mind would go through the trouble of putting a 50 shot on a 4100lb 4dr car, IMHO. Sounds like a strong/normal 300 to me. They are fun *** hell too, its as much fun to drive as my C6 w/the mods.

good kill.
easily took an srt8 300 in my old h/c LT1
they're def not slow cars (especially for the size) and considering they're built on the mercedes-benz E chassis they seem pretty nice
(sold my cousin a charger, but I'm still not a big fan, but I give em props)

I could care less about the dyno numbers and I don't doubt your victory. First the only "chip" that works is the Diablo Tuner. Second it's a pretty good guess he doesn't know the car (heat soak, ESP, shifting, etc). Third, DRs and the Diablo guarantee mid 12s in an SRT-8. Fourth the aerodynamic differences between the two are virtually meaningless until over 150mph. Fifth, what exactly do you call stock? Between your signature and new numbers it seems the ORY, cutout, lid & K&N are supposedly "stock"??

Stock was before the mods I have in my sig. Back then my car was only making 326rwhp.

x2, just like LS1 cars some srt8s are stronger than others... you ran a strong one.

good race. ive been wanting to run in to one in my lt1 to see how it goes. i raced a daytona charger in my ram but there only 5.7 with exhaust and k&N, and it was neck and neck i beat him 9.21 to 9.28. it was crazy close. race on the highway after strip and he started to pull back on me about 80 mph. then we let off dont think i would of held him off to 100

No doubt the Cobra was pulling him. But that's exactly what I expected from SVTperformance when we first posted it.
