Nice run. It's true the GT500's aren't all the impressive "stock". Just a tune will add 50+ hp though. I really don't know why Ford "detunes" everything from the factory. And I don't understand why these asshats go and get customized plates like "snk venom" and the woman that parks one in my garage with "syou" until they're modified. Maybe cause that's the fastest car they've ever driven? Sad...

HOLY ****! you beat a GT 500 huh? SO DID I! The gt500 is sex on wheels in black with rims but they are heavy but you can get one in the 10's stock weight and motor. But man you need to throw money in that thing. In short I like them, but the sticker price hell I would rather have a vette. But to my dissmay I still cant figure out ALL THE **** FIGHTING is about? Dam there are fast stangs and fast F-bods so why the fuss? Good kill to the poster, But at a 30-40 mph roll he would have done better. The Gt500 owner needs to do some research.

The corvette is what I would take for daily/street driving and track ability but I don't think anything has more potential than the GT500's 5.4L w/ forged interns for drag.

You don't have to go used to get one under $50K. I paid $46,700 for mine with navigation and satellite radio brand-spanking new. I've put about $6500 in mine since then and I'm knocking on the door of a 10 second timeslip on drags radials. It's already got the MPH (127) but I've got to work on the 60ft's to get the ET here it needs to be(11.49 best, 1.92, so far). This is on 93 octane pump gas and the stock 3.31 gears.
BTW, mine weighs 3850 without me in it, 4080 with my *** in the seat, so it's no stripped-down version, either.

KB 2.8, actually. Also a pair of 265/40-18 M/T drag radials, billet LCA's and an adjustable UCA.
I'll have to admit, although the car put down a better 1/4 mile time bone stock than the 2006 GTO I traded in on it, seat-of-the-pants, it didn't seem faster. IIRC, the GTO made a 13.4 pass at 103, GT500 did 12.72@112mph under similar conditions and both had a 2.1x 60ft on stock tires.

good run, i agree tho, with a good driver and maybe the valet mode or w/e is going on with the computer gone, you would have got your *** handed to you. they are quick, but it doenst take many mods to shut one down for quite a bit less money, not to mention the lack of a blower.

Like everyone else, I've seen GT500's, stock, running anywhere from mid-to-high 12's to high 13's, depending on the track, driver and weather conditions. I saw the same thing with the GTO's. Both cars are great representatives of their respective organizations.

i just ment that the LS2 makes most of its power down low, where as most of the GT500's power is up top. your going to feel more power come on sooer with the Goat, rather than one big hit up top with the GT500. people that have made the switch from an LT1 to an LS1 can relate to this. the LT1 feels stronger but its really not, because the LT1 is more of a lower end motor where as the LS1 is up top.
