call BS on GM then, not me. i didnt post the numbers. i dont see it being the weight of a GT500, but you haven't weighed it yourself, so you cant say im wrong. the only people to weigh it is GM and they say 37XXlbs. thats what im going with. ill take a 10 bolt live axle over the IRS BS anyday...atleast i wont have to re invent the wheel to replace the 10 bolt.
More like the weight of a GT500...and a bullshit IRS.

incorrect, the GT500 with forged internal 5.4 is for boulevard crusing only, and is not made to compete with anything. 
just ask irunelevens and all his nutswinging mustang fanboys....they are just starting to get a big head on their shoulders because they can finally argue that ford has something that will rape an f-body stock for stock. congrats ford, it only took you what, 10 years, and a break from production on the f-body's part. its cool, the new camaro will put ford back where they belong.
good run, i agree tho, with a good driver and maybe the valet mode or w/e is going on with the computer gone, you would have got your *** handed to you. they are quick, but it doenst take many mods to shut one down for quite a bit less money, not to mention the lack of a blower.

i totally agree it is a very nice car, damn good motor. but its not the end all of muscle cars. neither is the LS1, but its a damn good motor as well. im a firm beleiver if ford didnt have the supercharger crutch, they would be dead in the water as far as performance.

But Ford did put a supercharger on, from the factory... if the ZR1 didn't have the supercharger crutch it would just be a heavier Z06 with a smaller motor. I think that excuse sounds equally as dumb.

KB 2.8, actually. Also a pair of 265/40-18 M/T drag radials, billet LCA's and an adjustable UCA.
I'll have to admit, although the car put down a better 1/4 mile time bone stock than the 2006 GTO I traded in on it, seat-of-the-pants, it didn't seem faster. IIRC, the GTO made a 13.4 pass at 103, GT500 did 12.72@107mph under similar conditions and both had a 2.1x 60ft on stock tires.

Is that all 500hp gets them to? I trapped 108.7 in my stock LS1 ... on a 13.4 pass with a junk 60ft. How in the world did the GT500 go 12.7 at 107, especially on a 2.1 60ft?

. i love american iron but i thught they would be a hell of alot faster, "wasn't the gt500 supposed to be the z06's competition" cause from where im standing the gt500 doesn't even come close to the z06.
