Default LS1 T/A vs LS1 GTO

Ran into an LS1 GTO yesterday. It was red, had black wheels/polished lip, and was lowered. Judging by the sound, i'd say the engine was stock. We got side by side around 45mph, both hit it, neither car got the jump, and I had no less than 2 cars on him by the end of 3rd (around 90mph). If I had to guess I'd say the GTO was an auto, and he had a passenger, but needless to say I was pleased with the outcome. If the driver is on the board, that was fun

Unless you consider a lid and muffler as mods, it's stock. I've only hotlapped 4 passes in about 15 minutes at a 1/4 mile track with a best of 13.4 @ 109. It has much more in it ET wise, but I was running on 6 year old 245's at 40psi

Nice kill. 109 is a pretty nice trap for a lid and catback car. My dad's 04 GTO M6 stock minus the shifter has run a best of 13.7 @ 104, just to give you an idea.

it doesn't have a catback. The previous owner threw a flowmaster muffler on there and that is it. All I've added is the lid and MSD wires ... relatively nothing compared to stock

Good kill. The late model goats are prolly 3800lbs?? And he had a passenger. I would have been surprised if you didn't put at least a length on him. Good race, all in fun.

ty ... I've been wanting to throw some decent tires on there and shoot for 12's. I'd like to think I could pull it off with a 109mph trap, but my stock clutch and rear with 60k on em' probably wouldn't appreciate it

nah you'll be alright. when you ease off the clutch its not nearly as bad as 5k clutch dumps on good suspension with slicks. you can cut a much better et with the power you have without killing your rear. killing a rear and running out of gas are similar in aspects of inevitability. gas will eventually run out but in a full tank you got plenty of runs.

109 is what i trapped on my 12.7 runs with 2.1 60'. which might not tell you much besides i can't get out of the hole, and im fast on the bottom end and have stock heads so im slow on the top end.

Good kill
With the race starting at 45MPH that really hurt the A4GTO, thats a dead spot for the A4
Stock vs Stock the Fbody should win every time vs a ls1GTO

They are a little heavy at 3720lbs but a lot of that weight can be removed, you can get the GTO's down to 3600lbs without much work.

Good kill the GTO never had a chace
