Default Lowered the car - MMM Z28 on gunmetal ZR1s with Eibachs

Well I finally decided to lower the car last week. It has come quite a ways since I bought it and I'm really starting to like it. I just gave it a quick wash and shammy today, along with a little tire shine.

Here's how I got it -

No tint, no grille, no badging, curb-rashed silver ZR1s. Clean overall though.

And how it sits today -

What do you guys think? I know I'm far from a photographer, and I'm using a cheap 5mp Kodak point-and-shoot. It cost me $200 over 3 years ago.

I'm really trying to decide whether I should keep the berger mod or put the stocker back on. What do you guys think?

Have you considered doing the whistler mod to the headlights and smoking out the clear turn signals? I feel like those mods would be a better fit for that car color/wheel color combo. I think the berger mod looks good.

are those the slp eibachs?

i think the whistler mod and tinting the turn signals would make it look even better

Looks good man! I just picked up a MMM z28 myself.. The color is definitely growing on me.. Where did you get the retro z emblems from? I dont know where to get them or what they come off of..

Looks good man, i like what youve done with it. Im diggin' the lt1 tails. I agree with the others on doing the whistler mod and tinting the turn signals. Maybe tint the 3rd brake light and rear sidemarkers to match? Also since you have no emblems on the sides, have you thought about taking the side molding off? Gotta love that color.

I am DEFINITELY going to be doing the whistler mod. It kills me to have an otherwise dark car then see the giant blobs of chrome on the front. As soon as I get some spare time I will be doing that. Also, I have VHT in my garage if I decide to do the sidemarkers. I would do the fronts since they're clear, but then it would be out of place to not do the rears. And then if I did all 4 sidemarkers, I'd want to do the tails. But, I don't want to do the tails because I'd rather not get pulled over for them. (A friend got pulled over twice in 3 days this week for his tinted tails.. gay )

The berger is satin black, and yes I would sell it if I take it off. The emblems were bought on eGay, but Speed Inc sells them as well. They're around $30 a pop

The side molding may come off, I haven't decided yet though. The only thing I'm worried about is the paint under not matching. I also like the idea of having some sort of bumper, since nobody around here has any respect for a clean car.

They are just regular ole Sportlines as far as I know... I didn't know there were "slp eibachs"?

Also - I think I'll be ordering the SS spoiler this week. I'd like to keep the car "kinda sleeper" if I can.. not like it really matters. Everyone in this town knows what everybody has, so there is no surprise. People I don't even know will walk up and ask if I'm the guy with the cammed LS1. Yep

Thanks everyone! This thread was supposed to be in appearance and detailing, but I guess it fits here being that I just lowered it.

Great looking car!
FYI, Sportline springs will drop the car a lot more than that, definitely not Sportline springs!

They're black and they have eibach written all over them. I'll have to get the part number and look them up tomorrow I guess. My old lt1 car had sportlines and had the same stance though?

It's possible. IDK, I didn't buy them. We parted a car out and I got them off of that. The best lowering springs, are free lowering springs

In all honesty, even though the 4th gens look kind of dumb when they're not lowered, I wouldn't have done it without the free springs sitting there. It is a street/strip car, and traction is a problem with 275 nittos even after the suspension work I've done. A lot more to go! Oh, and mickeys.

the slp eibachs came on firehawks with the level II suspension setup and i think some ss's. they sit about that height. the pro-kit normally sits lower unless they haven't settled yet. i've seen pics showing them the day of and 6 months later and its a big difference. sportlines you'd be on the ground.

I sincerely doubt if he's ever scraped that Y. His car isn't sitting nearly as low as mine, and the only time I ever scrape my rediculously low-hanging y-pipe (jet-hot, which is known for it's poor clearance issues) is when I drive through a certain low-spot in my driveway where the asphalt has sunk. Even exiting my driveway it doesnt scrape.
