a Z06 rotor is like $200, where as a 5th Gen rotor is $80 add in a little for the milling and you are still under $200 for both rotors and the milling. so there you go.

I found the z06 rotors on another parts site for $61 each but they are not a vendor, so I can let you know by pm if anybody wants to know.

I still don't understand why you would run the z06 rotors with this caliper? If you want the z06 rotors, then get the z06 specific calipers. But if you're going to get the 4-piston brembo's, then get the rotors that were designed to work with them.

Well for the calipers to work on a Fbody you have to order rotors that would work. So the 5th Gen Camaro SS or c6 zo6 rotors are the only options. Zo6 rotors are cross drilled but need spacers. Ss rotors need to be opened up to work.

You do understand that the contact surface of the Brembo calipers and pads doesn't fit properly on the Z06 rotor? The rotors on the 5th gen camaro were designed to fully take advantage of the contact surface of the pads in the 4-piston brembos.

Now if you bought the Z06, 6-piston calipers, you would want to run the Z06 rotors since the pads fit the rotors.

The pads on the Brembos are wider than the contact surface on the Z06 rotors, hence, you lose pad to rotor contact.

So how much of a difference will you really see? I'm ordering parts that are listed on here that work for this conversion. The whole point I thought was to do big Brakes on a budget, so if I'm still getting a better brake system then the stock brakes on I'm going that route.

I haven't seen a side by side test of what rotors are best on this setup and you make a valid point.

It would be nice if someone made this system already for us at the prices we get it ffim building it. Plus show some results of the mod

The brake pads will actually hang off the inside of the rotor on the Z06 rotor, so as they start to wear, you will have this ridge created on the pad surface. That can't be good.

The only thing that needs to be done to the camaro rotor is to have the hub opening opened to fit the f-body, which shouldn't be a big deal. Call around to local brake shops and you should be able to find someone who can do it for you. I was more interested in having it done than shopping around for the best price.

I understand it would be nice to have a 'complete kit', but this is hotrodding, and sometimes that means going on a scavenger hunt finding peices that complete the puzzle.

I thought I read in a thread that Flynbye was having troubles completing orders, to the point that someone filed a dispute with Paypal and the transaction was cancelled. I'd open a claim right now just to make sure you aren't screwed.

The brakes are great. Nice linear feel to them and they definitely stop harder than before.

I also got my lines from Kore3. It was nice, they came with new bolts, washers and retainer clips.

Are you guys using hawks or stock pads? All of the hawks I see are front and rear sets not just front.
