I bought most of my stuff on Amazon and have about $500 in it. Not bad considering I got $200 out of my ls calipers and rotors.

$200 cts-v 4 pot calipers (Amazon)
$15 pin kit (Amazon)
$130 zO6 rotors (Amazon)
$80 brake lines (from flynbye)
$50 pad (AutoZone)

Now having to buy new wheels and tires was an entirely different conversation!

Personally unless you track your car regularly like I do all you need is a C6 Vette upgrade with some decent pads. I have been tracking this setup for almost 3 years, it's capabilities are way up there.

If you look around you can find good deals on really nice brakes.

I am into this kit for $1145.
http://www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/Bra...temno=140-7190

Bought the partial kit off here with 4000 miles on it, calipers, rotor rings and a set of pads for $725 shipped, the rest for $420 new.

Both kits fit under 17 inch GM wheels.

Can somebody give me the wheel stud part number? I can't seem to find it? Or is it the same number as the NAPA one on the 17" ctsv thread?

That looks amazing! Are those the ARP wheel studs and summit open end lug nuts as used in the GMHTP STI killer article? Are those the 18 x 9.5 OE Wheels but in black? Pretty much looking to do the same thing.

Is ACDelco 172-2288 Caliper Assembly and 172-2287 the #'s for the 1st Gen CTS-V 4 Pot or the 2nd ten 6 Pot? I would like to do the 6 Pot and drill the spindle holes to 9/16 like on the GMHTP STI Killer CTS-V article.

That's a very nice setup. 2 questions: did you need wheel spacer? Did the Gen 2 CTS-V caliper direct bolt up or it needs to drill out the mounting hole?

Thanx

Hey how is your clearance with the pad meeting up directly on the rotor? going towards the studs.

I did mine a few years ago going to the outside of the rotor there is no overhang but going in towards the studs the rotor is a little small.
Used the Zo6 rotors on mine.

That's what I was afraid of. Don't really feel comfortable grinding on the calipers nor do I have the right tools for that.

I didn't like the idea either, you have to grind quite a bit of material off too, the one I ground was down enough we could see the casting holes for the bolts that hold the caliper together. It would probably be fine for a show car, but I plan to use mine.
