I have 18x10.5 C5Z06 wheels on all 4 corners. The brakes are GEN 2 CTSV with kore3 lines, C6Z06 stop tech rotors, and Hawk pads.
That's a kickass setup. Just curious, how much more expensive are the Gen2 calipers vs Gen1?

I bought the Kore3 brake lines they have gone up again it was $80 shipped. I bought both CTS-V calipers for $199 shipped. As well as this caliper pin kit. However, I am wondering if this is the correct kit it looks like it and it was a suggested item with the calipers.

For those that went with the C6ZO6 rotors have you run into any issues with the pad and rotor alignment? I can get the C6ZO6 rotors cheaper than the 5th gen Camaro rotors. I am leaning towards the Camaro rotors but I am still not sure which way to go.

Has anyone found a rotor that will go on with no modifications? I go through a set of rotors every 16 sessions on track, I need something I can take on and off with no mods.

Why not just get a set of 2 piece rotors? Just machine the hat, and call it good. It only makes sense if you're going through 16 rotors that often.

I go through a set of rotors every 4 days or 16 sessions on track. The rotors I use are $30-$40 each.

Just the rotor rings are $250 EACH, No one can give me a thought on how long the last either, No thanks.

So, with the Gen I CTSV calipers what offset should the front wheels be? I am thinking of running 18s on '01 Z28 and I do not want to run a spacer.

Possibly these wheels: http://www.oewheelsllc.com/Wheels_3/...els-Gunmetal_3

It is giving a front offset of 46. Will this work?

TIA,
Shawn

Hard to say for sure, it depends on the spoke design or curvature, not just the wheel offset. Looks like a good candidate though.

Thanks! I'll keep researching. I am a few months away from this upgrade. Suprised how inexpensive this is...I dig it!

These calipers are huge I love them. The rotors I have been thinking about are more expensive than the calipers and kore3 stainless lines. I've been eyeing 2-piece DBA rotors...because "race car" at $400 for the pair. I am expecting to have to use spacers with the c5 18x8.5 wheels but I'm hoping to clear.

im getting ready to do this as well... my only question is...I already have the umi c5 brake conversion. im wondering if I still have to space out the caliper with washers. I cant revert back to the stock ls1 brake since I had to cut the bottom mouting hole off for the umi bracket. guess I should call umi and ask them or buy new spindles.

No need to call UMI, you need new spindles for this swap.

Just to add to the info, here's my TA with it's 18 x 9.5 wheels, standard Z06 rotors and 4 piston CTS-V calipers, +15mm Eibach spacers were needed - sorry no Brembo stickers...yet...

I have to say that this was the best value mod I ever made so far! And everything fitted "just as stated.."

Thanks, thread authors!

Where the hell did you find 2/ 6 piston CTS-V calipers for $199 shipped?

Good question. Are the gen 2 6-piston calipers bolt in like the gen 1's are?

You have to drill the existing holes out some but other than that yes.

I followed the write up in the GMHTP thread on here.

FYI, oewheels C6 spyders with 40mm backspace bolt up and clear the CTSV brakes perfectly (price just dropped $30 as well). Pics with tires coming soon!

I don't know if this was asked, but what would you say the total cost of your build was? I know looking around you can find some things at different prices, but just curious as to what yours ran? Thanks
