Sorry, but that Prothane bumpstop's to big!

What you want is Prothane part number 1-1301.
FYI, this is just like the ES Bump-Stop.

Not sure if anyone is interested but when i went to do mine they were out of stock however while at the junkyard I noticed the 3rd gens used the same style bumpstops but were made out of a much harder rubber and on many cars looked new i bought a couple for a buck i think and just cleaned the grease off the brackets. They bolted right up with no mods and have been good ever since.

Mine were falling apart on my 01 formula so I stopped by a local salvage yard and found that all the 4th gens there had the bump stops broken off. I decided to look at the third gens and they were all intact, so I compared the two and they mount the same. The ones used on the third gen f bodies were made from a more durable harder rubber material.

i dont remember but i probably ran down the thing with a saws all and then finished off any high spots with an air sander.

or maybe used the air cut-off.

I finnaly got these on my car since I got my winter wheels off today. I bought the SLP spacer one ebay for cheap since these are shorter than the stock stops. I didn't trim the spacer though I flipped it upside down. I needed a slightly longer bolts but this gave me a bit more length to the stopper.

Here's a poly one with spacer:
http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/ca...opnewgm-1.aspx

They are a little pricey, but they do also sell their spacers separately for $55 and you can add your own bumpstops with worrying about that tab issue...

Here's a comparison to OEM w/SLP 17" Wheel spacer:

They also have poly ones with smaller spacers and other considerations like lowering w/19" wheels, etc.:

I have to wonder though, would a Progressive Rate Multi Mount Bump Stop be a better choice, looks like you can get them taller, which could negate the spacer necessity?

Any inputs? Strano?

factory stops are GROSS!

making the spacer work (do not need if the car didnt allready have them)

beautiful!

real excited about that one.. man i hated those factory stops!
Great idea man! I went all over town looking for stock replacements without any luck, but Amazon had these ones for a fraction of what the stockers cost. They're on the way
