Default What are you guys using to adjust the front Konis

Are you just using an allen wrench? I was looking at these last night and think its going to be hell trying to get an allen wrench into the slot w/ a spring installed around this thing.

I use an allen wrench. But my springs free spin when the tire is off the ground so I can "index" the spring so that I can get the wrench in there.

if you take the wheel off you shouldn't have a problem, but yes, I use an allen wrench.

Mine are actually a little hard to turn with an allen. In fact, I've bent 3 of them trying to turn the adjuster.

I eventually sharpened a screwdriver to a point so it'd fit in the adjustment hole. Lots more leverage and you don't have to remove the wheel or springs (perhaps jack the car up so your hand can fit, though).

I was able to adjust mine with the spring and wheel on. I just jacked it up and fit a small allen wrench through the spring to the adjuster. I didn't bend any of my tools so it's not like you need something special.

I use an allen. With strano springs on, and without jacking it up. Not saying it's the easiest thing to do, but that's how I do it.

This is for the fronts. If you have 3rd gen rears you have to unbolt them. 4th gen rears adjust on the car.

If your springs are in the way, you should be able to turn them so you can fit something between the coils.

The rubber upper spring dampener/mount things were indented so the coil could only be mounted in one position.

The springs are always in the way to some degree... the coils are angled.

Here's a hint, don't use the long end of the allen wrench in the shock.... Those of you who bought your Koni's from Strano Performance can feel free to call me for more information (but not until Monday 7/6, I'm outta here to go racing)!

Correct me if I'm wrong, the spring suppose to seat in ONE position only.

For the adjustment, I use allen with no problem. However I've to take the wheels off the locate the adjustor slot. Depends on what kinda spring you run, difficulty might not the same.

I believe you are right. The dampener is notched for the top of the spring and the dampener only fits in the metal upper A-Arm mount one way.

What kind of springs are you using? Here's a pic of mine (same type)

The tops and bottoms are flat.

I guess it's because I have coilovers. I've never seen other types of springs on these.
