Default Need help can't hook on street !!

Ok so here is my problem i got my new drag setup with 275 60 15 m/t drag radials and on the track hook great. When I try to run on the street it won't hook for **** off idle roll worthless even after warming them up. I just lost $200 because of this it sucks. What do I need to hook on the street ? The run tonight I was on motor eased into and spun 200 ft or more. This was with the cutout closed and no nitrous full bolt ons and 3600 p.i converter 3.73's in the stock 10 bolt. Only suspension mods I have is bmr lca's stock tq arm stock panhard bar no subframe connectors. I have a bmr adj phb in the house with comp engineering rear shocks . Haven't had time to put them on but i don't think they would have helped that much.

Change your torque arm and frame connectors wont hurt but even with the best set up it's really hard to dead hook on the street

remove the front sway bar and put double adjustable rear shocks... race on lined concrete if u can and use a little puddle of vht to burnout in.. roll it out 10ft or so and stop immediately back in it and give a shot... thats what i have on my car and it works great...

I forgot to mention the front sway bar is gone. Thinking about trying the vht and I really need sfc's and a good tq arm.

do a better burnout. M/T should hook on the street. My camaro always hooked with similar mods on a 17" BFG DR.

Do a burnout and then roll out of it. Then, launch in the burnout marks. I think of it like preping the street for my launch.

its hard to hook on the street... no matter what mods you have, just have to learn to control that right foot!

Hello
Just another suggestion for you! I would recommend going with a set of Lower control arm relocation brackets to allow you to adjust the control arm therefore eliminating your wheel hoping issues and increasing your traction performance. Below is a link to show you what all UMI Performance has to offer,

http://www.umiperformance.com/catalo...95iuf8s9tm13s3

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
Thanks
Brad

I can hook on my 17" MT Drag Radials on the street. However I need to set my shocks correctly in order to hook. I bring my HP down a bit with the boost controller and no spooling off the line. You should take pictures of your car launching and what it looks like when it blows the tires off if you can. A nice digital SLR should do the trick.

What shocks are you running?

Ugh well that will do it! That is a reason why we always suggest when you have a chance to upgrade to a tubular version. You would be surprised how much energy you loss due to a flexing torque arm. Below is a link to show you what all UMI Performance has to offer!

If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than glad to help!

got to prep the road! spray down some VHT and light it on fire, then put a lil puddle in front of each back tire, burn out real good rollout back up and repeat. then ya might hook a lil better. do this every weekend at ur spot and it will start to hook like the track.

There you go. Just make sure you roll into that spot first before the other guy does... and hope the other guy doesn't notice
