Default Eibach Sportline Lowering Spring owners

Two questions for those that run Eibach Sportline Lowering Spring:

They claim a 1 3/4 - 2 1/4 drop which is a lot and exactly what I am looking for while retain some sort of budget. She is a garage queen, not a daily driver and no long distances really...just fun drives!

1. May I use all the stock parts (struts, shocks, arms etc) with these springs? The proline actually states that you can but the sport line does not.

2. Have you guys done the heater hose mod as well or retained your stock bushings in the rear?

Thanks for your help...

They do sit well. If i were you i would drive it for 500-1k miles or so to let them settle. My rears settled more than I wanted in the back and looked slightly lower than the front. its quite common that people have that happen. The heater hose mod will lower the back another inch and imo it will be REALLY low in the back and look stupid. The other thing also is the rear rates are quite soft and will bottom out over rough bumps. That was the only thing I didnt like about them.

If you do want to do the heater hose mod check out my thread below for new isolators that replace the heater hose mod.

While you may use your stock shocks, it's a good idea to upgrade shocks with any lowering spring purchase to deal with the lack of suspension travel. KYB AGX are budget shocks, with Koni's being #1.

EDIT: There's some pictures of people lowered here https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspensio...r-springs.html

without trying to start the typical war on sportlines, I think its only fair (since You're so new) to warn you to do a search and read about sportlines before you go that route. at least make and informed decision.

Not sure if I'd want to waste use of Koni's on sportlines. Since shocks are supposed to control suspension travel and there's basically no suspension travel on sportlines, what's the point?

+1 My car is a garage queen and just got the Sportines used locally for cheap. Just ride with your OEM struts it wouldn't be worth it. I will probably get the Ground Controls later.

Also had the heater hose mod but it was stupid low in the back. Put them back on and I have a nice tuck with the 335s in rear.

Sportlines look great, but thats about all you get with them. Just use the stock shocks because you're talking varying degees of shitty even with koni's.

lol, nevermind about the shock remark then. I just assumed it would help, which it probably would (marginally), but not enough to be worth the cost.

If you're not on a budget, I have heard of people using the lower perch on Koni's with the upper mount mod with other lowering springs (such as Stranos) which can give about a 2" drop and still ride better than Sportlines. However, this would cost a lot more than just a set of springs!

i'll tell you this, i rode on sportlines with stock shocks w/ 100k+ miles for about a year, and i can't tell any difference between them and cut stock springs that were on the car before.

Yeah, my 00 WS6 was on sportlines with stock shocks. It rode like an ox cart. Looks sweet as hell though, I got lots of compliments. Nothing better than a slammed black WS6.

Looks like Strano(s) are in my future with the heater hose mod as well as the front upper mount mod.

Love this forum...

Sportlines do look make the car look really great.. but, take in account how low you will be riding..

I have the pro-kit and driving is sometimes a chore due to my LT's and ory..

In post #17 they mention the U.M.M., which can be found with a search or maybe even on that thread! Looks like it's pretty good as long as you dont mind the extra work. But, be aware, you need Koni SA's.

I had sportlines for about 3 weeks. The look was amazing but with my LT and cut out's if you hit any kinda bump you hit the bump stop's! Didn't take much! I went to the KYB adjustables and BMR springs and the look is almost as good but the ride is night and day. I think this is a good set up for those of us that can't afford Konis!

i would like to add.. with sportlines.. speed bumps, suto-large curb entrances, or anything not flat. your gunna leave your LT'S and adjustable torque arm completly ruined. speed bumps will be a thing of the past my friend!!!

ive had sportlines for 5yrs. they give the car a great stance and have had alot of compliments on it. however you do sacrifice ride quality some though, but its worth it imo.
