Default How to decrease F-Body weight?

I am interested in some ways to decrease the overall weight of my 2000 f-body. I am aware of lightened brakes, suspension components, control arms, and K-members but am wondering if anyone knows any other ways strip down a Camaro short of removing the dash and back seats.

Lexan glass, composite hood, bumper structure, interior panels, plastic bumper covers

pumper covers are already plastic.
You can get some lightweight carpet and also you can save about 80 pounds by removing the AC.

quit blaming the car and get to the gym...

seriously, i think mitch may have meant removing uneeded plastic bumper supports (ie. the stuff that actually acts like a bumper and not the outer plastic). and of course you can be like the freaks at the local track who even take out the ashtray and lighter from the center console, if they havent taken out the console itself. also try relocating the battery if you have an optima or procomp (drycell). while this wont reduce weight(battery relo) it will aid in weight transfer. lose what you dont need from the exhaust. ALSO DITCH THE SPARE TIRE AND JACK FOR SURE!. change your rims and tires
If you are deaf (no offense) ditch the stereo/speakers/amp from the monsoon
I guess we would need to no more about what you are wanting to lighten the car for, and short of interior comforts how far you are willing to go.

There's a great big list in the drag racing forum. Check it out.

Take out the windshield washing fluid tank, no one ever uses it, at least not me. A new k-member is worth about 30 lbs. A/C system is a big one if you dont use it. And yes, look at the Colonel's Weight Reduction List in the drag racing forum. Oh, and remove the spare tire and jack...

Not PLASTIC ... but plastic

Lots of aftermarket suppliers for consumeable nose and bumper covers.
They weigh ounces ... not pounds.

BTW, they look like ****, but it reduces weight!

ac removal is actually more of a weight loss of 30lbs. (sorry georgio- hows the cage coming?)
