i have the same problem with the straight connector. theres no real secret you just have to do as the instructions say and make sure your cut is straight and flat on the tube before you try to flare it

I have the SJM linelock/abs delete kit. Very simple to install. The double flaring tool that came with the kit sucks. I ended up buying a much better tool from the local auto parts store. As mentioned, just make sure you cut the hard lines straight and even.

There is a tool for metric brake lines and a tool for SAE sized lines. The lines on the car are metric. A few years ago I couldn't figure out why flaring lines was so hard to do and why the tool wouldn't hold the line (it would push through). Then I found out there is two different tools! Having the right one makes all the difference.

yea, you shouldn't have to cut and flare anything for the line lock kit. you do with the abs kit though.

I've never succeeded at making my own flares. I'd go
look for already-made lengths and just stick to the
bending part.

I have a SJM line lock kit and I didn't have to cut anything. Works great, no complaints.

I had to purchase this brake flair tool from Eastwood http://www.eastwood.com/professional...ring-tool.html with that the flaring was a snap. The rest of the installation was easy however I did pull all the brake lines off the car to flare them to fit. The flare tool provided in the kit would not create a good flare then finally broke is why getting this tool.
