Did you check if the ebrake cables are secured in the rear at the wheels?

yes, make sure your cable is actually pulling on the ebrake pawl on the rear, your handle and cables might be good, but if it came disconnected from the pawl going to the shoes, they are not going to engage.

Make sure the e-brake lever actually connects properly to the cables in the front.

Hi,
pull rear wheels and check adjustment........run out until slight drag
back off/clearance should be .026. If working properly re-install wheels

The most common cause for this is that the rear rotors were changed and the parking brake was not adjusted at that time. (The parking brake needs to be adjusted - separately at each wheel - for each specific bore in the rear rotors.)

You'll need to take the rear brakes off, so you can remove the rotor to get to the adjustment wheels on each side. You adjust, put the rotor back on, and then pull the actuating lever at the back of the brake plate, which the cable adjusts to. If the lever moves 3mm, you are good. If not, remove the rotor, and repeat.

Once the brakes are properly adjusted on each side, the lever should only come up 3-5 clicks.

I had this problem before. A couple of causes:

- The star wheel mechanism is gummed up and when you turn the wheel, it bounces back really quickly and you don't notice it. (If you mark the wheel before you turn it, you can confirm.)
- You are turning the star wheel the wrong way.
- The rectangular plate that holds the rubber boot and lever in the back of the backing plate is loose or bent, so the lever doesn't engage the pins.
- You only adjusted one side. You will have to adjust both sides independently before you will see any difference in the holding of the brakes or at the handle.

When you made the adjustments, did you confirm the play at the lever behind the backing plate?
